Just a thought, if we go on family visit visa like before can we extend or switch or get married in the UK and then we can stay longer there?

It is not normally allowed for you to marry in the UK while you are already here under another visa.

It does say on one of the links that I posted that switching is possible under certain conditions but I really doubt that it would be easy.

Short answer is no. You need a settlement visa if you want to live here.

Can i ask...why have you left it so long?

I know we take it so long.We bought some property here. The children went to school. The fact, I'm so used to my country Philippines that later on we decided to move and stay with my partner.

Yes I know, what I meant was that if your intention was to visit on say a tourist visa, then you would be physically here and at that point you normally can't change the visa you came here on.

you could come here on a marriage visit visa and the kids on a general visit visa using their current passports( both valid six months) but you would have to leave at the end of the 6 months and then reapply for a spouse visa and sort out the kids passports before returning to the UK

indeed lots of air miles but its right to answer the question so the op can make choices.
Personally I would sort the passports out first then apply for the visa for herself

I know it's a lot to pay for flights. This is just a silly idea, won't go for these though.

Getting miles is really hard these days, on most of the airline schemes it takes at least 5 long haul 6000 miles or more to get any benefit at all, and often those flights have to be full price, miles are usually very restricted for anyone on cheap economy tickets.

    Well..I w
Well...I would think the best way forward is to apply for the kids passports..and when you get them apply for your settlement visa....even if all this takes a year or so. That time will fly by...meantime, whats to stop your partner coming over to you in the philosophy and you get married there ?

Nothing really stop him from coming over and get married here. But a lot of cases we heard about spouse visa takes a bit longer. Not sure if its true. Either will do. Its just a choice we made to marry in UK than in Phil.
