Assuming she has a bank account then can do a test deposit from wise into it to check it works. Then do transfers as required from the app. Can load it up in wise and then transfer as required but plan a bit ahead in case of delays in transfer or hold a certain amount in her account that can be taken out and then top up again. Not sure I would transfer it all at start and also not sure how easy it is to transfer back. Think better holding in either wise or a UK account where can move back again. I think I did hat last time as never clear on how much cash will needed. Make sure to get a SIM card with data in the Philippines and then have access to wise and UK banking apps on demand to transfer out. Worst case can western union money out to pick up in cash. Just set up the apps in advance.
I have the wise app already and a sim for a phone thanks to my other half. So should be able to transfer i think.
Here's a real example I just moved £700 extra to my account, on top of the 14,937.77 PHP I already had, FX rate of 77.64. So now I have 68,962.41 PHP and Zero pounds in my GBP Wise account for a total GBP value of 888.09 GBP at the current exchange rate, the GBP total will change every few minutes as the FX rate changes but I'll still have 68962.41 PHP to spend. Like now a few minutes later I have 887.92 GBP because the Peso just got a couple of peso weaker, FX rate is now 77.66 PHP to the pound.
The third figure up the top "Total Balance" is total value of your "account" - WISE converts the PHP 1152.85 back to GBP and add it to the GBP 130.00 to give me a Total Balance 144.84 GBP I.E. PHP 1152.85 / 77.68531 = GBP 14.84 GBP 130.00 + GBP 14.84 = GBP 144.84 - Total Balance Looks just the same on the phone!
