As one forum member might be buying GBP at the same time as another is selling, a constant BOO HOO might be more appropriate as anything else might cause offence.

Agreed but it`s a shame really..
Lets say I need Pounds and a member need Pesos.. Between us we might come up with a better deal all around without all the fees etc..
    Oh well..Never mind!

    It's a shame they don't have a "Hangbags" icon...

As I understand it one of the main reasons the GBP keeps dipping is because every time the UK's Brexit deal goes pear-shaped the traders increase the probability weighting for a collapse in the conservative government... when that blows over then it goes back up again.

Didn't think I would see close to 68 peso again, trading at 67.96 Peso to the pound when I looked earlier.

Yeah its dropped slightly, earlier today it was 68+ one of the disadvantages of Brexit along with the millions that we have vaccinated ;).

The only reason it didn't crash after the final Brexit moment was that a deal appeared to have been struck and the main reason it is as high just now is I suspect due to the weakness of the Philippine economy at the moment.

The other reason is that the dollar is not doing too well, the "The Day after Tomorrow" event in Texas is not helping the dollar and the vaccination programme here is probably helping as yes it looks successful so far but that will depend on long term results in terms of infections in the next month or two, any setbacks will hurt the pound.

Obviously the current succesful vaccination program up until now has a big bearing on the current strength of the pound, but its doing well against a whole basket of currencies not just the PHP, of course the big test will be when we come out of the current Covid situation as numerous economies have taken a hammering not just ours, but its a good time to be sending money over to Phills and people should take advantage of it if they are in a position to do so..

Yes it is a good time to send, but I can only really take advantage of that once a month next time is next Wednesday, in the meantime I am hoping the stock market drops a good bit before Thursday as it's well overvalued just now in my opinion and Thursday is my next pension unit purchase.
