Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me...I want to propose to my Girlfriend and i want a ring to present to her but i haven´t got a clue about ring sizes..I asked her good friend to find out her ring size and she said "hello rich how are you? rovelyn size of ring 4.1/4 circle...""
Well i live in the Uk and ive been browsing and the only sizes ive looked at are lettered rather than numbered..
Can anyone tell me the ring size that corresponds to 4.1/4 circle in English..it would make me very happy in deed.
    hope you can help..

By now, you will have found out that by asking her friend about ring sizes, the cat has been let out of the bag....

Oh well... too late now.... For surprises....:erm:

All the best and good luck.

Hi, thanks for the information, it is a good link but I have another problem.....GGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

My lovely pinay fiance has damn small fingers..hehehehe..

I began looking for diamond rings with a gold band but there are none that fit her size and the ones that do is beyond my budget..I havent got a strong budget as i have been travelling on vacation since april ( around the World tour) and i havent got a Job to come back too..yikes..hehhehheehhe..but my fiance understands..And you are right the cat was let out of the bag, but i think she knew it was coming since we have discussed alot about our future..
i did want a diamond ring for her...I was thinking of getting it from Phil but she says they are expensive and they import them..i looked on QVC but they dont even stock that size..the budget is 200 english pounds...but in the future i will want a more substantial ring maybe to celebrate the renewing of our vows..or celebrate our 50th wedding aniversary hahahahaha..thanks again

She knows about the ring already..............:erm:

The longer you wait to give it to her, the more the chances of a super sized tampo, with cheese on top and go large for 30 p.....

I would suggest that you do the deed at the first appropriate moment...;)

Another man down the road of love with a Filipina.

You will not regret it, except for the tampo's which we all seem to have to endure.

The other hours will more than make up for it, best of luck :vhappy:

Hi there, I saw your post and wanted to get in touch as I'm working on a Channel 4 documentary series about Anglo-Filipino couples who are settling in the UK. It's a primetime documentary series about love across the continents. We want to make a series which challenges old stereotypes and offers a fresh, contemporary and positive look at Anglo-Filipino relationships in the UK today.

If you’d like to find out more, please call Rosie O’Connor directly on bsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsbsb.com with your contact details.

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

    Try this link: http://www.jamesallen.com/ringsizer/request-free-ring-sizer.asp

It will help you determine your ring size. You can either order a plastic ring sizer or find your size online.

    Good luck!

hi guys, well i did the deed a few Months ago and Thank God she accepted my proposal of Marriage..Just an update..I got a nice cluster Diamond Ring for an affordable price but when I got home I thought that my fiance had made a mistake in her ring size as i couldnt even fit the ring half way on my little finger..It was like a ring for a little child..hehehhee, i wasnt in a good mood thinking if my fiance couldnt do a simple like get her ring size then then god help Us if we actually Get married..So I sent the ring back and got the next size up still thinking it was too small..
When I proposed..which wasnt a romantic setting i had hoped for..it was in the hotel room but at the time but we missed each other so much and i wanted to tell her much i loved her..So i proposed...But when i placed the ring upon her finger i realized the ring was actually to big for her and infact she did give me the right size....OOOOPPSS!!!!
she Pinched me on the arm for murmuring to her about "How can you not know your ring size?? YOU ARE A WOMAN"
    I FELT LIKE A IDIOT
she said it was ok..when we buy a wedding band it will lock it in place.. at this point she has to wear on another finger..

Anyway im going to spend a few days or more looking at this forum since i havent got a clue where to start getting married in phil..Ive got loads of time as we are not rushing into marriage and i need to get a job when i get back to the UK..But she is willing to wait for me..mmmm..must be love..but i do have a time scale and its fair for everyone to know where they stand and what to expect in the coming months and years..so im doing a research whilst in manila and thank God its started to rain, the heat is unbearable..thanks guys

Quite a few of us got married in the Phils, Junior Charlie so ask what you want.
The only thing I'd say at the moment is that getting married over there is a blast.

Evidence of relationship is something you will need to show as part of the spousal visa, shold you go down that route.
Keep all air ticket stubs, hotel receipts, photographs (dated if possible) and copies of chats.
It will be expensive so I would think you need to get a job asap and get saving!

My wife and I chose our wedding rings in Cebu, engraved inside. Easy to do.
We didn't get engagement rings, they were not important to us.

    Best of luck :like:

I screwed up on this. I asked her sister to find out what her ring size was - sister guessed and said "five and a half". By now you will know that ring sizes in the Philippines follow American practice, but a UK jeweller can translate that into a UK size easily.

It turned out to be four and half, but rather than have it altered she bought a wedding ring the fight size to go outside it, pointing out that was an even better way to discurage unwanted attention!

Hi! Just want to ask, is it really necessary to include the wedding rings in the application? I mean the receipts, photos and all? We're thinking of just buying the wedding rings in UK when I get there. as for the engagement ring, I'll buy one for her here in the Philippines and she'll also get one for me there in the UK. We're same sex couple so we've decided just.to get each other engagement rings. :D but the wedding rings, we'd really like to pick and buy them together. :) is that okay?

No it is not necessary, its just further evidence that you will marry once in the UK, its just one of many ways of trying to bolster your Fiancée visa application.

Oh I guess we'll have to buy the wedding rings then. Thanks timmers.

You do not have to buy wedding rings, if you wish to purchase them when your loved one arrives in the UK then that's fine, and understandable.

Aside from wedding ring receipts you can submit wedding venue information, emails from Registry office (if Civil wedding), quotes for wedding cake, reception and so on, this is all evidence that you intend to marry.

Thanks for the info timmers. My partner and I talked and we've decided to ditch the engagement ring and just buy the wedding rings. We searched the net for rings and they're a but pricey so we'll just allot our money to buy really pretty rings. We'll just buy the rings to really prove to them that we really intend to marry.

For the wedding, we'll have a civil ceremony then we'll just book a table a restaurant. We really dont want to splurge a lot in the reception since we think we'll just have 2-3 guests, just to serve as witnesses. Lol. :D what we're really preparing for is the honeymoon. Haha. I guess we could submit the hotel bookings for thw honeymoon! Thanks timmers for the idea! Yey!

Super, you have the idea, its all about submitting any evidence that you intend to marry, honeymoon hotel bookings would be great.

We never got engaged either and we also had a small wedding, and when I bought the wedding rings my wife's was the wrong size and still to this day we haven't got round to having the ring re-sized, she wears the ring on a finger where it fits :D

As you know, marriage has nothing to do with rings its about your relationship, I've never worn my wedding ring since the day I was married as it irritates me and it is also a safety issue for the kind of work that I do.
