Daily meat consumption in the UK has fallen by 17% in the last decade

    We have no problem getting meat from supermarkets.
    In fact there is all that one may need and more. I am even contemplating getting a turkey drumstick and thigh package from Morrisons (£4.75) for Christmas, not really a great fan of roast turkey, but a nice Italian style casserole cooked slowly in copious amounts of red wine and other delicious bits and bobs, will go down a treat
    ...
    And the news that on the whole less meat is consumed, I would take with a huge pinch of sea salt (excuse my poshness)

    I wonder if the media reports what it wants to report, but I think that the British diet has changed. But then, that's the same in many countries.

    I made a lovely veggie pasta tonight with raisins. Really nice.
