Yes. That is her first name. But we don’t call her that as my wife decided to call her by her middle name.

There is another coincidence. I think there are two coincidences but cannot remember the 2nd.

I wasn't allowed to suggest a middle name because of the having to write it at the top of every paper in full for the rest of your life issue :D

I wanted Janna Elizabeth Irene, I thought the doctor at least would support me in the hospital when I suggested it but I got a look from her like I was insane and Ana was not too happy either :D

No. I just checked. The second coincidence is that I also have a son called James, albeit from a previous marriage.

Why would the next season be any worse than any other winter, Jim?

Next baby boom starts approximately April 2022 (9 months from end of June 2021).
It won't be me - I had the "snip"

Because most years most people get exposed to various viruses that they fight off after either minor or major symptoms and there can be some cross immunity conferred by priming the immune system against one major virus in a a group in one year.

Flu immunity lasts a good while I think, the reason for annual flu shots is because the dominant strain usually changes each year but flu mutations are quite rare as are flu zoonotic jumps (species jumps) so most of us will generally be immune either through previous exposure to a particular strain or just because our innate immune system (T-Cell) got a kick up the backside from some other infection fairly recently.

I only read about cross immunity recently and there is a chance it is not an accurate theory or description but there is no doubt that flu has been dramatically suppressed this year, I did not get a flu vaccine this year (never actually had a flu vaccine) but I absolutely will get one when autumn comes round this year, realising that I am getting old.

Sixteen pounds in 25 days, but I am still not convinced that it will be long term safe or that I am particularly that much healthier, a very large part of the 16 lbs will obviously be water.

An additional interesting point is that about 15 years ago they did a study of 90 year old people and found that they still had neutralising antibodies to the flu variant from from 1918-19 pandemic, the immunity was essentially lifelong to that variant.

Haven't had a drink except for the day after my birthday, basically all year since the 3rd of January when I finished my Christmas supplies.

Quit drinking to maximise the efficacy of the vaccine when I finally got it and will continue this way until well after the second dose of the vaccine :)

Will you go on a bender after the second vaccine, Jim? ;)

I hardly ever drink - I've drunk 24 cans of bitter from the fridge in five months
I may get a few small bottles of lager in soon as I didn't enjoy the bitter like the old days.
I am looking forward, as are the majority of the country, to be able to have the option of socialising again when lockdown has ended and I've had the second dose of the vaccine.

No chance, I don't miss the drink, I might have some when I travel but then again it is an immunosuppressant and flights are one of your largest risks given close proximity of other people and the duration so maybe not, shame as I do like a beer before a flight.

And in the Philippines I would only drink San Mig Light as there are no suppliers of good wine anywhere near us and I think wine tastes different in a warm climate somehow.

Remember it is a couple of weeks you have to wait after the second dose before socialising, just to be safe.

In the UK if I were to drink in the house I would finish a bottle of wine in an evening, I could also drink a few cans sometimes more than a few, I would not get plastered but the following day I would want more, I am likely alcohol dependant so I think it is best if I steer clear of it for a good long time, last year 2020 I drank for 7 out of 12 months, I want to better that this year.

Sixteen pounds in 25 days is very good. Why obviously water?

If through eating low carb healthy fat, blood sugar is in range, weight is in a good range, blood pressure is good and cholesterol levels are spot on, there really isn’t much else that can go wrong metabolically. Someone with those markers would be in the low risk category for heart disease and immunity levels.

The thyroid can cause problems if under active.

In the first week or so you burn off your glycogen stores, someone my size maybe a kilo, so 1 kilo of glycogen + about 4 kilo of water, approximately I have not gone into it in detail but a lot will be water.

On the 14th the hospital filled me full of a couple of bags of fluid and I was drinking a lot of fluid anyway, also a bit constipated.

From the 20th to the 24th I was badly constipated despite drinking a lot of fluid 3 to 4 litres a day.

Constipation is almost certainly what put me in hospital as it affects my fistula badly.

In general I am hydrated my pee is very light in colour not dark at all.

They checked my thyroid function in hospital and said it was fine, I asked the nurse to check my blood sugar as well it was 7.8 three hours after a meal that had carbs (20 grams worth).
