The chance that your intrepretation is right is miniscule from a scientific viewpoint, in my view you are being influenced by politically motivated forces that want to create a narrative that suits them, remember the Iraq war, here we go again.

That article reports the likelyhood that it moved from bats to other wildlife and from that other wildlife to humans, when people ridicule this kind of thing it's like oh so we're supposed to believe this just happened one Monday in 2019, the movement from bats to other wildlife could have occurred years previously or possibly a shorter time, whatever group of host animals it evolved it, it was there long enough to evolve into a variant that could jump to another species namely us.

Here's the history of SARS-CoV-2 since it's primary evolutionary host became us, see all the old variants, basically gone, everything is Omicron now and even 22E is getting left behind as 23A is now the dominant strain.

Before December 2019 in all the species it had evolved in there was a history just like this SARS-CoV-2 arrived at us from one of the dots on the right in a graph that looked very like this one all the other variants went on to evolve or die out in the host they were in at the time but one of them made the jump to humans

All current human SARS-CoV-2 has one genetic origin back in 2019 but it's extemely hard to say what host it jumped from saying that recent resarch suggests the possibility of raccoon dogs as a possible vector:

I mean everyone knew it came from China there is no other origin and that report is not supporting the lab-leak theory which is the crap that Trump was trying to spread and the DoE lab leak report which eveyone jumps on was released with 'low confidence' that thier conclusion was correct, and I still want to know why the department of energy is considered expert enough to investigate and pronounce on microbiological issues like this one.
