    Hi everyone.
    Some help and advice please.
Now married to my fillipino wife, annulment finally came, 3 years and 2 months.
We have a son, coming near to 4 years old, and my wife has a six year old from unknown father, whom I am dad to. The UK passport that applied for the youngest was not approved, reason , was my wife was still legally married at the time of his birth.
I have been told that I can change this by applying for him to become a British citizen through myself.
As we want to live in the UK as a family,
should I take that step first?
It would save money on the count of applying for 2 visas not three, and also the financial requirements would be less.
Has anyone out there done this?
My advice came from an immigration lawyer in the UK.
    Am I missing something?
    Thank you.

It's a late reply, I am not married, my daughter is British, her mother was previously married to a Korean in 1995, divorced in Korea but not recognised in the Philippines.

We got a three way DNA test in 2008 as the British Embassy explained that DNA will always trump any other evidence.

I can't say for certain regards the annulment issue but I am pretty sure that the biological child, born after July 2006, of a British Father is British.

My daughter has a British passport, albeit currently expired.

edit: Anyone that challenges that interpretation of the law should themselves be challenged, the law is that the child of a British father born to a foreign mother is British by descent.

Agree with an add on which is " unless the child is born outside the U.K. where the father is British by descent"
Descent can only be passed down once

Do you have any practical suggestions for the O.P?
Or do you think it is a bit late for grand standing and B.S advice?

The thread was missed, for whatever reason no one replied when he posted it in March 2019 three and a half months ago.

He was still here reading last night during his rant, he was due an apology given his circumstances even though he appears to have made his mind up that you and everyone like you, or like me, that might want to live there, live in ****hole with crap food.

He's convinced he's coming home with his kids, I hope he is right.

And he will still get emails on this thread as he is the thread starter.

Speaking of which, citizenship, me and asawa dropped her application off at the Sopra Steria, aka the Llandudno Library last Friday (no appointments available in Liverpool or the several around Greater Manchester!).

I hope we haven’t messed up because we kept questioning ourselves on the documents we submitted, hardly anything in comparison to ILRs and FLRs.

Either way I’m sure we will hear something in time.
