Absolutely not, bigmac. I would never read anything by the "Sun" after they wrote so many disgusting things about Liverpool Football Club after the Heysel Stadium - even though I'm an Everton fan - it was lower than low could ever get.

All these websites can be checked by doing something simple like putting the URL in google with "reliable" after it then looking at the info forthcoming.
More mainstream sites like BBC, Reuters, CNN, The Independent, The Guardian, Sky - things of that nature would be less likely to push falsehoods and/or lies.

Please remember that most members here are unbiased and helpful - not like some websites which have more angles than a Rhombicosidodecahedron (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhombicosidodecahedron).

We are all under tremendous pressure, emotionally and financially - even physically.
Being negative does not help you or anyone else and you have been very funny, helpful and insightful over the years :like:

If you read this I hope you will reconsider.

I'm not allowed out of the house Mike, over 65's not allowed out, and wife can't drive but there is a free bus into town. I'm worried that supplies of food may run out.

Isn't there someone who can go to town to bring shopping back for you, Jim?

I have a British friend and his wife who would go into town shopping for us, but I'm reluctant to ask, it's a daunting experience with those checkpoints 3 hours just to get through, then there's the queue to the malls.
Wife can go on the bus. Just hope there's money in the ATM's.

This was the reason I mentioned vegetables.
You said your house was quite large. Does this apply to the garden also?
I know veggies don't grow overnight but it may be worth looking at for the future as no-one knows how long this virus will last.
I am not a gardener but someone there could offer advice.
My wife has told me that they grow vegetables on her island for times when the fish catch is limited.

Also, some countries smoke fish (although I never saw this in the Philippines) and it keeps for a long time, if you can get fish there.

The Garden is large 1,000 sm. We grow fruit and veg including coconut but only the coconut is available now oh and some chilies.
Fish is available from the street venders, also we have turkeys but they are too skinny to eat, selling them.

    Hello again Jim,
I was chatting with my wife about your situation and asked her what options you have for food, these are the things that came to her mind straight away. Nothing will grow quickly but maybe it is helpful:
Sweet potatoes, Casava, sweetcorn, banana, sebuyas dahonan (spring onion) , alugbati (Like spinach).
Away from growing, she did say that perhaps someone can get you some fish or even go to the sea when the tide is out and collect shellfish for you.

That’s where my wife was born. It’s in her passport etc. Valencia, Negros Oriental. It certainly gets people’s heads scratching over here in the U.K.
