Part of the reason things will be cheaper for you is the abolition of Air Passenger Duty for children under 12.
Hopefully we can also all benefit from slightly lower prices for a while, now that the tons of fuel used by aircraft (and the main expense for them ?) cost a lot less. My 22 year-old half-Filipino son has asked if he can accompany me next trip, so that will be a pleasant change... and he can meet his new brother.
Yes. We are getting what we got last year for 50% less yet with the addition of double the quantity of kids this time round
i dont like to use 3rd party when flying between uk and ph, i prefer to book directly through the airline, it always seems to be around the same price
£462 with KLM (from regional airports) when I checked on their site yesterday. Short flight time too.
I'm looking to book in next few weeks for june, I'm finding on edreams around £560 return and its direct with Philippine airlines think it was around 14 hour flight
Try Skyscanner (then to the airline site). June you're heading into UK holiday times of course, so likely to be dearer, regardless of your destination. No way would I want to sit on a plane for a 14 hour stretch though. ... and there will be cheaper. Also likely to be dearer the longer you leave it until booking.
I found it same price when I booked in October last year to travel in January, I keep checking tho. I even tried to do one Friday for sunday evening this weekend just gone and came out at £558
it is hard tho to sit there all that time, actually on my return flight I didn't even get up once lol, just sat with an ipad they gave out and watched some films. it was actually longer on way back and we was delayed so maybe I ended up sitting for nearly 16hours
Recently I've used Etihad, Emirates and Qatar. All around £500-£550, with a couple of hours break in the middle-east to stretch your legs. Excellent service and you can choose your seat in advance (at no extra cost) and check in online with all of them.
im going in june also and saw around 500 pound with emirates my last 2 trips i used china southern and saudia i would never go with china southern again, the check in was always open at last minute and very slow service, although i was with klm from manchester to amsterdam and that was an amazing flight, would highly recommend them and saudia was an extremely unpleasant flight, but that was due to the poor hygiene of many passengers.
I use Kayak to filter out the airlines, and I usually try to pick a decent airline according to skytrax reviews..My main objective it to get to manila safely, cheaply and quickly and I always book with the airline directly and ignore the the super cheap deals with the agents as I've read online that some people get to the airport thinking they have a flight booked but none exists and then they have a hard time contacting the customer services at agent they booked with. For me I want to know that i have a flight booked for sure. I usually fly with cathay Pacific or Qatar when there is a good deal and I usally aim for the £550 - £620 price mark and I usually travel in January..Ive been tempted to fly with Air china and my work colleague flew with them this year costing £360 and he was very happy with them..
I had to change my flights for May this year. Changed from a 5 week break to a 3 week break and the change cost me £550.00! We live and learn, every-days a school day!
Which airline was that? I guess that there will be a change "fee", and you may have had to upgrade to a different fare sub-class if there was no availability on your required date. Always worth checking the price a day or two either side.
Most of the (cheap) tickets I've purchased have quoted £100 for changing dates. I suppose it also could depend upon seat availability... when actually put to the test ?
Booked through Omega and it's Cathay Pacific but I'm guessing it was Omega who took the bulk of the charges!
