My wife is joining me in the UK soon on her spouse visa. Can she visit Belgium with me using her Biometric Residence Pass or is a Schengen visa needed?
    Thanks

I think she might need a Schengen visa. They do not appear difficult to get if she is travelling with you

She will need a Shenigen Visa and in my experience it is easier to get a Dutch Visa than a French Visa.

If she has less than three months on her existing Visa she will find it very difficult.

Israel does not require a visa for Filipinos

The information given is both incomplete and confusing - there's no mention of the automatic - and free - visa rights granted to non-EU spouses, fiancé(e)s and other immediate family members of EU nationals. And the information page for Malta is nowhere to be found.

Thank you so much for the replies.
The rules are somewhat confusing but it appears a visa is required at a cost of 60 euros and we can only apply after she has been resident for a period of 3 months.
I have emailed the Belgian Embassy for more info will report back with the answer!

It’s definitely free with France. But you still pay something coz you apply with TLS and they charge a fee but the visa fee is free.

Here's a link for Belgium Schengen Visa applying from UK
    https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/belgium-visa/uk/

It says, Spouse/family member of an EU/EEA nationals are exempted from visa fees.

Hey all just jumping in on this schengen visa talk. I am looking to apply for one for my wife so that we can go to France in April. On one of the sites it says that we have to get a confirmed itenerary, does anyone know if this is true?

Also, we are planning on going Italy in June on a completely different trip. Is it worth mentioning on this French application? And can she still use her schengen visa that she used from France for Italy?

Yes you can use the Schengen visa you will use for France when you go to Italy as Schengen visa will be multiple entry.

Thanks Brom, so when applying for the France Schengen. Should I put that I plan on visiting Italy too, even though it's a completely different trip?

You can mention on the cover letter for the applicant that you are also intending to travel to Italy in June. June is not far away from April and Paris gives long validity Schengen Visa. Some are lucky to get 1 year validity, mine was only 6 months.

I suggest that you arrange to get the schengen visa from the Netherlands - it's easier to get.
I am a dual national with France, and last year they refused my fiance a visa, whereas she had a tourist visa already from the UK.

I thought the visa had to be where you set foot down and enter the border ie you can't have one for the Netherlands but land first in France.
