From the form AN guidance. Would be unlucky to hit issue with odd holiday but it is a requirement and reason for refusal.

Believe it is on page 10 under section on
Requirement to have been in the UK on the first day of the qualifying period

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-an-guidance

Must have been physically present in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands on the day 3 years before the application is received by the Home Office.

The (AN) guidance is for those who want to become a BC by naturalisation, which is not the same as becoming a BC by marriage (naturalisation).
I might be wrong but I don’t recall the form asking the question on my wife’s successful application” where you present in the Uk exactly 3 years from your application date” do you recall it on your applications ?

Not yet done application but as quoting the three year period that is only marriage to British citizen. Five year route is same requirement just have to be in UK 5 years to day.

It is a requirement that generally won't catch people out but worth being aware off. Can't remember where I picked it up but having to check rules at moment may have been there or elsewhere previouly when doing general reading on subject.

Probably not a specific question but one that they can check with absences info.

The 3 year quote I made is a direct response to the ops question about living at the same address for 3 years prior to your application
    extract from ops question,
""Correct me if I'm wrong but I know we need to live in the current address for 3 years right? What should I do?"

    extract copied previously in response

You must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years before the date of your application. You cannot include any time spent in the UK when you're exempt from immigration control as a: diplomat. member of a diplomat's staff or household.
this clarifies the question posed by the op!

Rules for applying for citizenship if you have ILR or settled status
    https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain
note no requirement to be in UK exactly 3 years to the date of application, the requirement here is 5 years ie the day you land in UK

Rules for applying for citizenship (by naturalisation) supported by the AN document in your previous post
    https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-spouse
here you have the 3 year to the day requirement
This is not relevant to the op and the 2 processes are different

That’s good for you! If I was in your shoes I would apply for new Philippines passport this you will then have for ten years then apply for BC and get British passport you will then have dual citizenship till your Philippines passport runs out(10 years) and have all the rights of a Filipino citizen when you go home.

It’s really tempting! Should I do that instead? My residence permit runs out in December 2023. How long do you think I wait till I have my new filipino passport? I’ve heard it will take months. I just really want to get my citizenship done as At least that sorted and the whole stress of this whole visa journey is done .

Are you on ILR 10 year route?
If your permit runs out in Dec 2023 that’s 15 months away or do you mean Dec 2022?
If it is 2023 you have plenty of time to apply for Philippines passport.
You don’t need a current passport when applying for BC although it can be used for proof of identity.
It’s useful to have your old passport to verify periods out of UK.
Whilst I don’t want to tell you what to do, it’s your decision I in your shoes would be seeking the benefit of 2 passports, you never know what lies ahead!

Yes I am and valid till next year Dec 2023.
Yes I was thinking about that! I know it took awhile to do my British citizenship but never really had problems with travelling with my Filipino passport.

and yes definitely useful in terms of knowing when I was in and out of the UK if my paperwork is not enough. Especially I haven’t been in the work force for the past 6 years taking care of the household and baby.. I’ll have a sleep on it tonight. I really do prefer to get this citizenship done though and maybe worry about dual citizenship later? That can still be done easy right?

Copied a couple of links for you looks fairly straightforward, bit of cost involved and a trip to London and the Philippines embassy.

Thanks Mattecube! I think I'm going to go ahead with citizenship first then worry about dual citizenship later as I want my daughter as well do the dual citizenship too.

Quick question, why is your partner's financial stuff not included anymore in the citizenship?

Because you have through ILR the right to live in the UK.
Therefore if you have the right to live here you have the right providing you meet the BC required criteria to become a British citizen.
The visa journey and BC are desperate although the ultimate goal for many is BC through the visa route.

ahhh made sense! Its just that a friend of mine who went through it few years ago had a barrister to help her with all requirements submitted EVERYTHING financial stuff because they do have a family business etc so was confused.
Thanks for that Mattecube! With regarding to proof of living, would it be ok the past 3 years? Ill have to spread all the letters from nhs. clinics, bank statements coz we stupidly threw some of the paperwork when we moved! its a headache as I've lost my past paperwork from my bloody old visas. Can't remember my national insurance and haven't been in the workforce as well for the past 6 years. Is there any other paperwork I can submit t proof was in the country the past 3-5 years?

You don’t submit loads of paperwork at all they will know you were in the Uk from your passport.
The BC application is so much easier than visas application. Through ILR you have the right to live here now.
At the end of the application you will be told what to supply.
I will copy you a link later

Read the link forget this 3 years stuff not relevant to you, you have to through your passport show you were here 5 years previous to application date (your passport will show them this by entry and exit stamps)

    https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain

    Documents
    birth certificate
    passports
    marriage certificate
    letter confirming your ILR status
    life in UK test certificate
    English language test certificate
bank statement with your name and address on (bank letter headed paper)

as you complete the application the system may ask you to provide something else specific to your case,
