It was all 'tongue in cheek' and a big mistake anyways so Jim knew the real truth all along, really, of course he did. The UK as dangerous or worse than the Philippines? What an absurd notion! He was just having a jolly laugh.
Same with London. Well, apart from the 'happy faces' bit. Smile on the tube and they'll put you in the Looney bin. But whoever says that these are cities living in fear is deluded. I remember when they had the Londonbombings of 7/7 there was a bit of a joke going around. "There's been a bomb at King's Cross and the station is shut down!" "Oh no, that's really bad!" "No, it's fine. You can change at Baker Street and get the Circle line from there." Honestly, though. London is safe. Manchester is safe. I grew up in Hungerford. It is safe. The occasional nutter could turn up anywhere in the World at any time. You can't account for that odd, freak occurance. In General lifestyle, London and Manchester are much safer than Manilla.
Now ,if I had said that,it would have been a typical conspiracy theory. Been going on for years with a bipartisan agenda.. Politicians...Brethren all.
I agree with you about the City's of London and Manchester, I grew up just outside of Manchester. I wouldn't say they are completely safe no where is safe but I know where you are coming from. Don't know much about Manila apart from the slums and congested roads, hate the place.
