    Hi All,

Our visa finally got approved. My wife will get to Heathrow on Xmas eve, best Christmas present ever however we will live with my parents for a few months whilst she settles and finds a job.

Does anyone have any tips on things to do or how to make it easier for her? I’m already cleaning my room out etc :p will get a new tv and a Netflix subscription. Rice cooker.

she doesn’t want me to get her a warm coat cus she doesn’t trust my fashion sense :( haha!

Relax, enjoy the time together warm clothes, be patient and understanding of the culture shock for her.
Talking to each other is key!
    You will be fine.
A very Happy Christmas to you both

Trust me, take yourself to Chav Central (SportsDirect) and buy something serviceable, warm and with a hood that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Because when she steps out of that plane she will feel the full force of a geographical climatic change.. She will freeze...

That is what I did in 2007, when my wife arrived, and funny enough, she still wears that jacket on occasions..

    Congratulations.

Mine first arrived in July, even then she was frozen stiff. She insisted to have the central heating on.

i think youre worrying too much. it will be fine--just make sure theres plenty of " just the 2 of us time"--such as a few weekends away together.

If she's a fan of Filipino TV, some are.. TFC.tv ! My wifey watches it from the iPad time to time. Although that was after a couple years of living here before she longed for it!
