Yes of course, but that's very different to someone stating that too much fruit causes heart disease.

If he had stated that obesity can result in heart disease and that excessive consumption of fruit without corresponding exercise might lead to obesity then I would be agreeing but stating the fruit is a direct cause of heart disease is utter nonsense and dangerous advice.

Sugar is a Carbohydrate all consumption of carbohydrates raises blood sugar, blood sugar is regulated through glucose homeostasis via Insulin and Glucagon produced by the Pancreas.

Fruits provide essential nutrients vitamins that we all need, they are perfectly healthy in any balanced diet, failure to burn off the sugars in your diet though lack of activity can lead to heart disease, simple consumption of fruit does NOT cause heart disease.

My choice of fruit is raspberries.

Sugar in all it`s forms can be a direct link to obesity..Juicers in the wrong hands can be dangerous.
    Bad advice?
If fruit contains "essential nutrients vitamins that we all need" then how did people survive without seasonal products before they were imported in the quantities we see everyday today?
    Hmmmm.. Food for thought!

Mangoes are considered very good for heart health, high in fibre and good for vitamins C and A, nothing you can get here compares to Mangoes in the Philippines for me.

Raspberries around here are of variable quality, I am finding that the usual Morrisons Raspberries at £2 are often deteriorating on the shelf before they are even sold although their Wonky brand is often much better they last longer and are much cheaper.

Skyr and Raspberries plus a few grams of Raspberry Coulis makes a fantastic high protein almost zero fat dessert that is really nice.

Juicers were not part of the post I questioned, I agree they can be a bad idea, fruit is better consumed whole as digestion takes time you don't get a serious sugar hit in a short space of time if you eat it whole.

And average lifespan was much lower in the past Bootsy, the reality is they didn't always survive that long.

In the UK when I was young we had a varied diet, sufficiently varied to provide required vitamins and my father (a pharmacist) made a point of vitamin supplements for the whole family, my parents also made a point of making a variety of fruits available often tinned, in other words preserved.

And while you need a constant supply of vitamins and excess consumption is excreted very quickly, vitamin C which is found in fruit persists in the body for weeks to months.

I eat a lot of mangoes and pineapples over here, probably that's why I have put weight on. I never knew they were fattening.
Nothing to do with drinking half a crate of San Miguel then. ;)

You need to either walk fast or a slow jog back and fourth to the bar.
Mangoes here are 250 a Kilo so I save that money and consume it on beer where before I used to have both.

Everything is fattening Jim with the exception of left handed sugars which are undigestible and possibly celery which is so low in calories that it may take more energy to chew and digest than you get from it.

Artificial sweeteners like Aspartame are also not calorie free but due to being incredibly sweet are used in such small doses that they make no measurable contribution to diet while they too are an exception they are also thought to induce a sensation of hunger as the body figures out that the sweetness does not equate to calories.

On the other hand drinking more than a very limited amount of alcohol increases blood pressure which will eventually lead to heart disease.

my first wife put on a lot of weight after our 3rd kid. then she found a diet which worked for her--hard boiled eggs and grapefruit, plus black coffee with no sugar. fair play to her--she stuck to it and the pounds just fell off.

    after that we got divorced.
