Guess people are to use to Indian, Thai and Chinese food and can't try anything different especially if they don't know what Filipino food is?

But not only that, the Filipinos didnt flock there for the Filipino food when it was served initially. But they like the Thai food, so my wife tells me.

I was dissapointed for my wife that they went 100% Thai on the menu as I had told her about the place selling Filipino food every sunday. So I was expecting to take her there, for a treat every so often. Wasnt to be.

I quite like chicken or pork adobo.

Try opening up a Jollibee franchise in the UK.

You need about 3M GBP though before they'll consider you. Hahahhaha...

The Filipino restaurants in Earl's Court don't do themselves any favours.
They've got a captive audience with the Filipino's who live and work around the area, and the various Filipinos who visit the shops/remittance centres/hairdressers in the area .... but the food leaves a lot to be desired, and is certainly not "user-friendly" for non Pinoys.

We were there last w/end (Mrs BBJ had a hairdressing appointment), so we had the obligatory visit to one of the restaurants. She (as usual) had the buffet ..... me, (once bitten, twice shy) had the sizzling chicken on the hot plate.

Even Mrs BBJ, who's normally very defensive, mentioned that almost every meat dish in the buffet was "gristle, fat, and bones", and I hate to think what cut of chicken I was served....... it certainly wasn't breast. The pieces were so small, I've seen more meat on a cat ....... mmmmm... I wonder ! ? !

Conclusion..... she's determined NOT to go back there.
