Hi all, I am due to apply for my 2nd FLR M soon but the process seems to be so much different now. 2 years ago I used the postal service and went to the post office for my biometrics. I’ve read that supporting documents are all scanned now, and I am now confused with what Sopra Steria and UKVCAS are and what they do, or if I need to book any appointments in advance. Can anyone please shed some light on the latest process for FLR M application from within the UK? Thanks!

Hi Roseanne, there's no need for you to book for an appointment for the biometric in advance because, after you've submitted your application online, The UKVCAS will let you know if you are eligible to use the app. for you to submit the documents (visa the app) or an invitation to book your appointment for the biometric at the service centre. You can visit their website and check on how to upload your documents. As per website advice by the UKVCAS, you can upload your documents before your appointment date.

I hope this will help your enquiry.

    Good luck!

For clarity UKVCAS (UK visa citizenship application services) use Sopra Steria as a partner to administer the application process.
With regard to your biometrics you will be informed if you can use and they intend to use your previous biometrics or that you need to submit new ones.
Sopra Steria centres are dotted all over the UK and offer various degrees of service depending on location. Google Sopra Steria scanning centres and find one near you and have a look what services they provide.
You can scan at home and upload or take all documents to a scanning centre and for a fee they check and upload them for you. To self scan at the end of the application you will get a link to set up a scanning account and you scan and upload.
    Hope this helps.

Thank you @Vincent_Derama and @Mattecube for the clarification. I am more at ease now knowing that I don’t have to rush and book an appointment. There is a lot to scan but I feel more comfortable scanning at home.

Hello sorry to butt in this post, I'm not sure if it's already been asked somewhere here but I just want to make sure I'm doing things right. I have few questions about my names for my ILR visa application.
1st, can I combine my maiden and married name for the supporting documents?
2nd, Is it ok if my given name is just on initial + the married name? I'm worried HM won't recognised me cos my passport and brp is in the maiden.
3rd, I didn't put my middle name on my application cos there was only Given name and surname. I just don't want my middle name to become my 2nd first name like what happened to my other documents. Will it be a problem?

1 yes you can, we have done it this way in the past and on our ILR application for my wife and her daughter.
2.Your application names should show exactly the names on your passport and BRP.
    3.as 2 above

There is often a misunderstanding about the 5 years living in the UK before making an application for ILR, under the PBS (which the child is not) a dependent has to live in the UK for 5 years.

Also and this will apply to your wife and child once you have been granted ILR and if you both apply for British Citizenship then you both have to of been here 5 years.(this is outside the visa system)

    IN YOUR CASE
Children are not technically subject to immigration rules, but are dependent on family members and their relevant status in the UK.
If both or one parents are settled or British in the UK, then the relevant child can simply apply to settle in line with the parents.
This is why your BRPS are aligned

Thanks @Mattecube but does it mean they will refused my application cos I didn't put my middle name? my passport and brp have my middle names on it.

    Hi Guys,

I just want to ask if anyone of you just applied recently here in the UK for the Spouse Visa application. After you've completed the biometric thus, the UK Home Office will send you a confirmation email if the Visa has been approved? I have been waiting for their decision fingers crossed.

Good luck to all of us.
    Many thanks!

Following the application after the fiancé visa. I’ve applied for a Spouse Visa after our marriage last August and now I had my biometric done at the visa centre. I am just wandering if the home office will send an email regarding the status of my visa once it’s approved? thank you

Hi everyone. I am going to file a FLR application for my spouse. My employer has changed but my employment is subject to TUPE rules and therefore my terms and conditions of employment remain the same, and my employment is treated as being continuous from the date I started work with the old employer.
The takeover by my new employer started in Feb/March 2020 but the first payslips with my new employer only only changed in Oct 2020.
I can get a letter from my new employer confirming all of this but I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them and if anyone knows what I should or should not put on my application?
Many thanks for reading and for any help?
