The easiest way is for her to still use her last name and wait till you have got her FLR then change passport and change name, it’s easy to change her name on docs afterwards. Leave everything as is so it won’t cause any confusion when applying her FLR.

agree all documents with her previous name can be supported with the marriage certificate, however future applications such as a new bank account can be done in her married name(this is how we have done it)
what she will have to do is ensure her BRP once granted her leave to remain and passport match (you are allowed ime to do this a month I think
!) if she is to work her NI number will be better in her new name also.
I would suggest that you apply for the spouse visa and then do the passport!

    Thanks for that
So it's ok say I provide docs like council tax and water etc in her old name and bank in her new name? As I don't get brp until I've completed first stage for 2.5years and she can then work?

in our case--my wife still uses the name in her philippines passport. her bank account, UK driving licence, her half of the council tax, medical letters, employment contract.. credit card,. it all matches up. even got her first and second FLR and BRP in that name.

Yes docs in old name is fine
You will now apply for her visa to extend her stay in the UK after her marriage once this visa is granted ( takes 6 to I weeks approx) you will receive her BRP card and she can start working.

@Daveyw1988 just completed the wifes daughters FLR application( she entered on "Leave to enter as a dependant in 2017) your wife will use (apply from inside the UK) on this link find the link "apply from within the UK
    https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse

The application will be pretty much the same info you provided before just updated plus your wedding certificate again at the end of the process you will get a document checklist of what to provide, some documents will be mandatory others useful or additional! no chat logs required, use the checklist.
Towards the end of the application you will find a link (I think the page is called further actions) to Sopra Steria this is where you can upload your documents once youve created an account, or you can pay a fee and when she goes for her biometrics appointment they will scan and upload the documents. We uploaded at home and for a fee they did the biometrics and checked the upload and will ask for a document if they think something has'nt uploaded correctly or is missing so take all the copies you uploaded with you,THEY KEEP NO DOCUMENTS FROM YOU.
The scanning and uploading is basic stuff but you will need a scanner! nearer the time if you get stuck let us know.
we used the Liverpool scanning centre, staff very friendly and informed they were in and out in 20 minutes, and we await the result

If I recall, the premium includes the cost of the UKVCAS? Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, as I went for standard. But I considered it I think, because of this.
