No idea of costs - try searching Google for 'UKVCAS'...

As far as I know, the UKVCAS service includes submission of the application and evidence, after scanning it.

Just thinking ahead, I can scan documents at work and presumably upload as well.
However, do our passports have to be originals, if so how do we get them to wherever they need to go? Do they need to be certified ?
I have seen various people mentioning an appointment, I (maybe naively) thought the decision was made based on the application and supporting documents?

Great work by the members on here, keep it up!

Settlement (ILR) visas and Citizenship applications require the use of UKVCAS.

    Your UKVCAS appointment
When you go to your appointment, you’ll need to bring your:
    • appointment confirmation email (either a print-out or a copy on your phone or tablet)
    • passport or travel document
    • other supporting documents (unless you’ve already uploaded them online)
You’ll get a list of supporting documents you need to provide when you submit your application.

I submitted my wife's FLR application online on the 19th July as it expired on the 20th, and received notification that she had to "attend an appointment to provide your documents and biometrics by 20 September 2019".

So basically even if you don't have all the documents you need for the application, you can fill the online form in as if you do have them and then have two months to acquire and provide them.

For the information of anyone on the same route, sfter submitting the FLR application and clicking on 'Book Appointment' you are directed to https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/home and:

Welcome to UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services

On this website, you can book an appointment to complete your application at one of the UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) service points across the UK.

    Book an appointment
After you have chosen an appointment type below, you can find and select a service point by entering a postcode on the next page, choosing a location that suits your needs and then selecting a suitable date and time for your appointment.

    Extra services
UKVCAS offers a range of appointments and extra services to assist you in completing your application, which you can select as you go through the appointment booking process.

We offer services such as Document Checking to provide extra assurance your supporting documents are complete and of the required quality, as well as Document Scanning at the service point if you would like us to scan documents on your behalf. These services are included as part of the Enhanced Service Point service and Document Scanning is included in the Premium Lounge service (see below). Both can also be purchased for a fee when using a Core Service Point.

    Review and confirm your appointment
You can review your appointment and extra service(s) selection before confirming and making a payment. Once your appointment is booked, we will send you a confirmation email – please ensure that you bring a print-out of this and the attached QR code to your appointment to avoid any delay.

    Upload supporting documents
You will then have the opportunity to upload any supporting documents required for your application. Please check guidance on gov.uk for which documents are required for your application route.

If you are applying at a Core Service Point, you will have the opportunity to self-scan and upload documents to support your application on the UKVCAS website ahead of your appointment. There is no charge for this service.

Please note if you are applying as a third country national as part of the EU Settlement Scheme, you must upload all of your supporting documents on the UKVI online application system and not on the UKVCAS website.

    Buying more Extra Services
If you wish to purchase more Extra Services after booking your appointment, you can log back into your UKVCAS account at any time to select the service(s) you require and make a payment.

After clicking on 'select location' you are then given advice on how to download your documents, which might be of use to Iainchelle who had problems:

To make your visit to our Service centre as smooth as possible, it is recommended you upload your documents via the self-upload facility. You can upload documents in stages right up until you attend your appointment, making it easy and convenient. When uploading your documents, there are some easy to follow guidelines set out below to ensure you are successful.

    1. Document type: On completing your on line application you will be advised of the mandatory supporting evidence UKVI will need to access your application. You must upload all the mandatory supporting evidence, we will not be able to submit your application if mandatory information is missing. Further supporting documents guidance is on gov.uk for the documents required for your application route.

    2. Category: Your supporting evidence needs to be submitted under the categories advised, our upload facility allows for this and having the right documents in the right category will make your evidence easier to find and review, so we suggest that you organise and upload your supporting documents in the correct categories.

    3. File Format: Please upload documents in PDF (preferred), JPG and PNG format.

    4. File Name: needs to be as simple as possible e.g. bank-statement-Apr-2018.pdf Do not upload files with file names having special characters, #,ë, or bank.statement.apr.2018.pdf

    5. File Size: each uploaded document has a file size limit of 6MB, uploading larger files will result in your documents being rejected, so please ensure the file is as small as possible and not more than 6 MB. If you document is likely to be over 6MB please split into parts and create separate files. There is no limit on the number of documents/files you can upload.

    6. Scan in Greyscale or Black and white: To help contain the files size to 6MB please scan in ‘Greyscale’ or ‘Black and white’ and not in ‘Colour’. It is also helpful to keep the resolution between 150 dpi (dots per inch) to 300 dpi. This can be achieved by configuring your device by the available ‘Settings’ option, that allows you to choose the file format, colour and the dpi resolution. With this approach, you will be able to scan up to 50 pages per document within the allowed 6 MB limit.

    7. Password: Please do not upload password protected files as the caseworker will not be able to open them for assessment and therefore your application may be delayed.

Oh no, I’ve scanned everything in colour as I thought that it would help show they were genuine.
    Has anybody else done this?

Having read the guidance above a couple of times, I think it’s mostly to keep the file size down. I think it should be fine. Always worth a ring to the UKVI Advice line to be sure.

If you choose the priority route how long is it before you have your appointment?

I’m a little confused regarding the ten day time limit and the appointment, can someone help please?
Do I have to attend within ten days of submitting the application? What if no appointments are available?
Can the appointment be pre-booked before we click on submit?
I could do without having to pay £100-00 on top of everything else!

    I must be going mad.
We're filling out our FLR (M) appliaction online and have stated that we have a daughter (1 year, 10 months old) but our financial requirement is showing as £18,600 but I thought it had to be £22,400.
    What are we doing wrong?

I've seen posts here where people say they can't get an appointment for their biometrics in time.
We submittedout FLR (M) application yesterday and we were told to make the appointment by 3rd October even though Christine's visa (BRP) expires on 11th August.
    Is these normal?

don't worry about it! as long as you applied before your wife's visa ran out then her immigration status remains the same.
Book an appointment as soon as you can that fits for you
