So you've never flown, my guess is you flew a fair bit for about 50% of your life, lets say maybe 66% of your adult life.

You also assume that everyone is a tree-hugger, I like trees we should have more of them but I want a future that is clean and a future that has technology I don't want peasantry and a return to the 15th century.

Partially True...I have never met the scientists systematically measuring and interpreting data financed and influenced by huge fascist publicly funded organisations like the E.U.

I have flown to just about every location in the world that I have wished to visit, but then I do not claim that anything that I ever did contributed to sea level rise or global warming!

And for information a long haul flight is roughly equivalent to each passenger driving a small car the same distance in terms of CO2, long haul is slightly more efficient than short haul because most of the energy is expended to reach cruising altitude so the longer you stay there the better.

Me and the Mrs have planted 100`s of trees in the 12 years we have been here..They are all about 30 ft high now and protect us from the sun..Where we live the ground temps are much cooler than outside our property..That`s for sure!
I may have to cut the ones near the house in half so that they do not stop the sun hitting my future 5K watts of solar panels.

I have met a lot of scientists in my time and I studied at Glasgow to become a physicist, lots of things mostly of my own making conspired to defeat that ambition but all of the men and women that I have personally met take great pride in following the scientific method the foundations of which were laid down during the enlightenment in the 17th century.

I will say it again, there is nothing is your life or my life that is untouched by the revolution in science in the last 300 years, nothing.

And yet so many have nothing but contempt for those who contributed to their past and that contribute to their future.

I agree with that for the most part...Apart from the science that has been meddled with and financed by the establishment and lying, corrupt scumbag politicians.
If you think that`s just another "conspiracy theory" then I say we have nothing more to say here that`s of any use.

Yes that's another of your conspiracy theories, you have no evidence only opinion which suits your agenda.

I have no wish to persuade anyone of any view that I may wish to share.
    I hold no agenda..Only a personal opinion.
    Unlike some.

The upside is that with all your chuntering and farting you'd use up your annual carbon allowance in a day. Silence is golden! :p

I agree with you about tackling plastics in the water - but on global warming I disagree that the earth is getting hotter - it is not scientifically proven - my late friend Tom Channon RIP moderated this blog - he died last year.
Anyhow another blog on this subject.....

Of course the Philippines is very polluted, especially the air, so I am all for a cleaner atmosphere........

That being said Global warming is about the sun getting warmer, rather than the earth.

    Sorry utter nonsense.

People promulgating this idea seem oblivious to the fact that the models have already taken solar cycles into consideration.

Amongst other things we appear to be entering a solar minimum similar to the Maunder minimum which may be offsetting some of the change we would otherwise expect.

We've closed our office in Beijing a few times because of polution. We actually use the pollution reading in the US embassy now as the Chinese official one seems to always stop when it reaches the limit.

Absolute tosh... and I note your veiled dig at the Philippines
You don't have to read newspapers listen to scientists to understand we are destroying our planet.
Take a walk on a beach after a bank holiday plastic everywhere, where does it go the sea, look at the ice caps melting away, look at the dirt and grime on our buildings.
Best of all blow your nose after walking through a city at rush hour and look at the rubbish mixed in.
