Not a chippy, a restaurant that had fish and chips on the menu. No idea what the fish was, but tasted pretty decent.
Yes I've also travelled in China for business. My experience was that Chinese food in China, is nothing like the Chinese food that we eat outside of the country. My chicken soup literally had the chickens head and its feet in there.

I love life,i love new experiences,i like doing my own thing when I want where I want how I want,i am off to the states in a couple of months for a month wandering around,got a decent trip planned for the end of the year also.I have a son,had a lady but she is sadly no longer around,s**t happens in life over which we have no control,i did family life,enjoyed it,it ended no use moping around,like I said life is good I could be trapped in a relationship that's totally unsuited with someone who I have nothing in common with but I am not,just how it is I like me,i like my company
Yeah it will be the Phils but I hope to phase it with me cutting down the days I work and being allowed to work some of those days when I am out of the country (UK). Full retirement should be possible from about 4 years from now but really, I have to guess how long I will live to know when I can start to retire and I have to be very aware that any time earlier than 6 years from now I have to provide all the money myself. When I do hit state retirement age I hope to be living on 25-30 thousand a year after tax, so maybe some travel will be possible, but I will also be funding James and Janna at college so I won't be that well off Just in the lounge waiting for my flight back to the UK at 7:40 this morning, no sleep last night had to be up at 3:50am.
Tell me about it!! My two are finished this year and financially speaking it`ll put about 20/30k a month back into my beer, restaurant and travel kitty.
Hope you had a good journey back to the UK. Your work skills are such that you may be able to do work from home when you are retired in Phils as well! I have noticed that is not quite so easy to work 5 days a week in my 60's. Sometimes I do 15 hour days and I cannot recover quickly as I could in my 50's It is not good to work all the hours as before because it is important to be alive and around for the family.
Just got some fantastic fresh lobsters, landed at the quayside earlier today, doesn't get fresher than that.
Had a bit of a windfall this week,fortuitously timed,went into the city for a spot of shopping earlier and had lunch in Harrods,french oysters and a wagyu steak,lots of filipinos work in the harrods foodcourt nowadays,the guys on the oyster bar and one on the wagyu place are filipino,well recommended if you fancy treating your good lady to a nice lunch in the city.
Sadly the oyster bar closed maybe 6 months back and has been revamped as the caviar house and prunier,i even brought a dozen back home.
I tried them in Baltimore, USA, with very hot sauce. My English friend put too much sauce on and it almost blew the top of his head off
