Registration of Marriage in Phillipine Embassy: Applicant's marriage took place within the UK:

    Requirements:
4 duly signed form Registration of Marriage ( download in Phil embassy website ) ( all signatures should be authenticated )
    4 passport copy of husband
    4 passport copy of wife
4 photocopy of marriage certificate fitted in A4 size paper
    original marriage certificate
original PSA birth certificate of the applicant
    self addressed envelope
    Fee: £23
    3 days processing

I did personal appearance but i was wrong to photocopied the ROM form. So the embassy staff requested to post back all the requirements with an additional bank draft check payable to PHILIPPINE EMBASSY. Enclosed letter of request in your post and indicate all the attachments. 5 days after, i received all my original documents and my Registration of Marriage certificate. Documents to use to change maiden name to married name.

Hope this helps. Mabuhay to all!

They didn't ask for PSA birth cert when I submitted my RoM last January. Is that a new requirement?

I am not sure if this is a new requirement. But they required me to include my PSA birth certificate.

I see. Are you gonna wait for your PSA marriage cert to change your surname?

No. PSA Marriage certificate is NOT needed to report marriage ( marriage that took place in UK ). I am not aware if that's the same requirement for those marriage OUTSIDE UK. As advised by the embassy, Report of Marriage certificate can be use to renew your passport under married name.

Hi @Rephidim10 thats also what they told me in London, that I dont need to wait for a PSA marriage cert to renew my passport into my married name. I don’t know if this is now the “new rule”. But I’ve read stories of applicants being turned away because they dont have a PSA MC. If I look at the requirements in the PE website, PSA MC is required

I emailed and called the embassy to confirm but no response.

Now I am confused whether I should risk going to London to renew my passport, I only have my approved ROM, no PSA MC.

Hi @Rephidim10 have you had any luck on renewing your passport to your married surname using your ROM? Thanks!

Hi @Roseanne J . I haven't been to the embassy though I'm calling them and post questions on their FB page. I'm living in Wales and travelling to London needs planning. I will be posted soon.

Thanks @Rephidim10 I have also been calling them, but they never pick up the phone and did not reply to my email. I will let you know if I ever get an answer. I am also far from London, so we dont want a wasted trip to the embassy.

Hi all. This is a follow up confirmation for those who are married in UK and hope to renew passport to change maiden name to married name. No need of PSA marriage certificate. You only need your REGISTRY OF MARRIAGE and other requirememets stated in the website to renew your passport. One of my friend successfully renewed and confirmed it with the Embassy officer. Now, I'm waiting for the Consular mission in Swansea 13th of October and will do my transactions.

Hope this helps. Mabuhay to all!

Hi @Rephidim10 I hope you and your baby are doing well :)

I would like to ask if you had the chance to renew your passport at the Swansea outreach? I’m about to book a trip to London but I am still doubtful if the embassy will accept my passport renewal with name change as I only have my ROM, no PSA still. Thank you! :)

Hi Roseanne J, hope you are well too. Baby boy is healthy and getting puffier and fatter :) Thanks for asking. Yes, I did my passport renewal under my married name using only my Report of Marriage. Goodluck to you and have a safe travel to London. Be sure to dropby in Jollibee :)
