Mods, Please note one of the site rules: No hate speech against people of a certain religion, race, sexuality or gender. Genuine criticism of religions or nations and their people is fine, but if hate speech is identified it will be removed. Why are Islamophobic threads/posts still tolerated? These types of posts were common on another forum but they are on open view in this forum. I thought we were above the hate speeches that were prevalent on the previous forum? Some Muslim Filipinos may read Islamophobic threads and posts and form the wrong opinion about us.
As the rules of the forum state, hate speech is not tolerated Mike. I have and will continue to delete posts that I personally think cross the line. We are open to genuine thoughts on subjects but control must be appropriate from both sides of the conversation. If any of the other mods deem any comments as inappropriate they too will remove it. On occasion we deliberate particular points of threads as to what is/isn’t appropriate. The rule does allow for criticism but obviously this can potentially spill into something not deemed as appropriate. I too have seen other forums that has had out and out racism and the same members continually spewing their agendas and dislikes, that has never happened here as far as I am aware. The forum is a tool to ultimately assist people not a mexhanism of broadcasting hatred whatsoever. If you feel that there is genuine hate speech, alert by reporting tool. If any one mod agrees then the comments will be removed.
I find some opinions unpleasant and its clear from the argument presented that the poster is racist, islamophobic or homophobic somtimes and I bet they may well have a gay old time on other private forums where they find common cause but generally its unusual that people cross a line into hate speach as defined. I'm happy to argue facts and opinion but I tend to walk away from maniacal bias and illogical contempt. Avoid the oxygen of discourse and they will go away. Anything worth debating should be fair game though, including religion, gender politics and race. Being in a relationship with a transgender person I am happy to educate and in fact answer any sensible questions about it. I work with the rule that if you were ahppy for me ask the same question of your wife then you can ask me. Ignore rinse repeat
