So my fianceè is arriving from the Philippines on Saturday but we've just seen on the way here she gose via Abu Dhabi ,Dublin then Heathrow but on the way back just Heathrow,Abu dahbi and then on to the philipines will will they let her arrive in Dublin and get the connecting flight now we're worried we've messed up big time I don't know what to do please help
She has to go from one terminal to another but from this I can gather she wouldn’t have to go through immigration just go to the walk way for connecting flights that connects the terminals is that right or am I wrong I’m so worried now I can’t believe we didn’t check properly I’m gutted that it will all go wrong now it took so much effort to get this.
I don’t think you’ve messed up. She will be kept airside as she is just transiting. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1649798-dublin-connection-t2-t1.html
You only land in a country when you pass through immigration your GF will not do this at Dublin. Relax it is fine you both will be fine. Enjoy the build up to her arrival, enjoy the cuddles at arrivals Heathrow. Good luck to you both
The main country you need a transit visa in is the USA. As everyone has already said, there will be no problem
Hate to put a negative spin on this.... Due to the Common Travel Area agreement between UK and Ireland, your partner will arrive in the UK as though it was a domestic flight. I have a feeling that there will be a documentation check required in Ireland. UK airports have segregated areas for international and domestic arrivals/departures. Irish airports do not, which is why we generally need ID to show Irish border patrol. I'm currently on a packed tram so can't check all the ins and outs for transit through Ireland when the final destination is UK. Quite possibly it will still be fine, but I do have this nagging doubt for onward travel to the UK.
