Here in NorthEast the people are friendly compared to London. I must say Filipinos from London are mainly paranoid because there are lots of them undocumented. You can't blame them because their own people often betray them to the immigration.

... and of course it's the overstayers who make it so difficult, long-winded and expensive for the ones who stay within the rules. :boxer:

The Northeast is fine, once you can understand what the hell they are saying.

I know! That is because NorthEast is next door to Scotland and Scottish has got a terrible accent (Sorry! If there's any Scottish in this forum) :D

I'm Scottish and have been told I have a rather refined, easily understood, accent. I'm an east coast boy although I did stay in Glasgow for a few years when I was young.

There is lots of research suggesting the Scottish accent is trusted - more so than any other part of the UK.

If we're revealing our regional prejudices I confess to not being a big fan of Norn Iron (think Ian Paisley), Brummies and Cockney / Estuary English.

I shall know await indignant retribution!

Haha - Noooo Glenn. She has a lower middle class west of Scotland accent. I've lived mainly on the east coast (Aberdeenshire, Angus and Midlothian) and sound quite different to Ms S.

Many years ago I fell for a lass (girl) from Peckham, Sarf Landan (South London). I met her at a conference in Brighton and she claimed my "cultured" (her description) Scottish accent persuaded her to return to my hotel room for some Ovaltine and shenanigans

Personally, I think the vast amount of vodka we'd consumed had something to do with it! ;)

Some of that list are true - others less so!

Hmmm - not a massive fan of Liverpudlian either - Stan fu**ing Boardman used to grind my gears and although I think he's a nice guy and an ok stand up, John Bishop's accent grates a tad.

I like Liverpool - the Philharmonic pub with its amazing Royal Doulton tiles in the toilets. I got up to some high jinx in the Adephi as well but I better keep my own counsel on that! :D
