    Hi,
im looking to live in manila with my fiancé.
after searching online i cant see such a array of visas to live in manila like the visas thats offered to live in England.
Has anyone been through this process for clarity.
our situation is that my fiancé works and has savings,I have no work lined up for when I move and we are planning to marry there in the near future.

As you are not married, you have two choices:
    1. Apply to the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, via the Philippine Embassy in London, for a "Quota Visa". The Good News is that, if approved, it is almost impossible to rescind and you will have the right to reside in the Philippines permanently regardless of your marital status. The Bad News is that they cost a lot of money, around Php250,000 (just over £4,000).
    2. Simply apply for a Visa Waiver on entering the country but you will need to be in possession of an onwards/return air ticket. That waiver will be for an initial 30 day period but can be extended in 1, 2 & 6 month increments at an office of the Bureau of Immigration. Once you are married and have a NSO Marriage Certificate, you can apply for a Settlement Visa known as a "13(a)". You will need to produce an ACRO Police Clearance which should be dated no earlier than 90 days prior to your application date.

If you are applying for a quota visa you will need to attend a personal interview with the immigration service and provide documentation proving you can support yourself financially.

Unless you have private income, you will fall into a Catch-22 situation. You won't be permitted to work until you have a full 13(a) which is at least 2 years from application (a provisional visa is issued for the first year) but one of the requirements for a settlement visa is proof that you can support yourself and your wife.

So travel to manila with a onward ticket.
Then extend visa to 6 months(is there requirements for this).
    Get married within this time.
Then apply for 13a settlement visa within the time.
Is there no requirements like with the uk you had to show detailed proof of finances, accommodation etc

It doesn't have to be Manila, you can also enter the country at Clark (Angeles), Cebu or Davao.

You can only extend for 30 days upon your first application. Once you have been in the country for 60 days, you can apply for a 6 month extension. A six month extension costs 3 times as much as a 2 month extension and you will additionally need to pay for a Tourist ACR ID Card (~Php3,000).

Yes, finances, accommodation and police checks are all required. If you've been in the country 6 months or more when you apply for a 13(a), then you may also be asked to provide a Barangay Clearance and NBI Clearance (pre-requisites are sedula and PNP Clearance).
