    Good evening

After a splendid holiday in the Philippines, my Girlfriend and I are preparing for a UK trip.

She unfortunately was refused a UK Visitor Visa. the refusel letter was clear and concise and we both realised what we need to do to fix it to apply a second time round.

We did not provide enough details and hard evidence.

My lady has a full-time employment, but is currently on a long vacation period. She has all the documents to confirm the start date of the new term at work and has more than enough finances (has the proof) to support and share the costs of the plans we have for some travelling within the UK.

I understand I need to produce an invitation letter to help the process. I am a little confused and worried if I do not get it exactly right and show all the right points we will get refused a 2nd time.

I am for advice on the letter I have drafted below is a sufficient base to submit to the authorities?

Your kind an helpful responses are valued as always :)

I am writing to confirm I wish to invite Marie Anne , my Girlfriend to visit me in the UK for a maximum of 3 weeks in order to have a vacation with me. I hope she will be able to come from 7th June through to 28th June.

We first met in June last year and have been a couple since July 2015.

We have most recently met 6th April - 19th April in the Philippines, we spent a vacation together and I also met her wonderful family.

We are both in full time employment and expenses will not be an issue.

Throughout Marie Anne's stay in the UK, we will be visiting various places as well staying in my Family Home.

I have attached a itinerary of our travel to intentions as well as staying in my family home.

I have enclosed the following documents:

    •• Copy of passport
•• Copy of UK Drivers Licence
•• Copy of my Bank Statement
•• The last 6 months Payslips

Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mr Stephen Lewis

I think you should include a copy of her employment contract and a letter from her employers stating that they expect her back on a stated date. The main concern with visitor visas is that the visitor will not return at the end of the visit.

My then girlfriend applied twice for a visit visa...and was turned down first time because of a banking confusion. The 2nd time she stayed with me for the whole visa term.

Agreed. The UKVI are looking for definitive proof that she is able to fund her stay and that she has reason to return at the end of it. Examples of such may include: evidence of employment, deeds of property that she owns, details of businesses that she owns, evidence of kids in schools (if any) or details of university courses she is currently enrolled in.

I agree with everyone here - as proof of ties to go back, ask your partner to request a certificate of employment from her employer stating her status, position, tenure, office assignment, and salary. If she is on a long vacation period, perhaps provide her contract or official memo to prove this.

In my previous visit visas, I have provided the following as evidences of financial capacity and ties to go back: certificate of employment, official number of leaves allowed, recent pay slips, bank statements. Every case is different but I hope this helps.

Oh wow, amazing, amazing people you are. Your feedback and advice is priceless.

    I thank you.

My Lady, Anne, has been amazing the last few days, she has obtained many documents, Employment, more detailed bank Statements etc to support it with more muscle for the 2nd application.

I have sent her copies of my Passport, which also includes the page that was stamped back in April when I visited the Philippines. I also sent her copies of my drivers licence, 6 months worth of Wage slips and I will send her a copy of a bank statement.

Would it be advisable to send 6 months worth of bank statements or is just the 1 more than sufficient?

I would like to ask about the re-applying, can you re-apply immediately after the refusal?

I have tried searching around the web and I have found a few suggestions that it is not allowed until 6 months after. However, we have not changed our story or anything like that we just did not provide enough documentation evidence to support the application as fully as possible

    Can anyone clarify for me?

Also I have a question regarding accommodation, I do not own my own house, I am currently living with My mother and sister in the Family home, would this have any impact on the invitation letter?

Would I need a declaration from my Mother of any kind to say I am her Son and I live here?

Or is it simply a case of sticking to what I wrote, 'My Family Home'?

    Thank you DJB :)

    Another document to create! haha

So....what shall the letter contain, format etc?

Format may be like your invitation. Letter contains confirmation that you are your mother's son, you live with her, and she knows your partner is coming over and staying with you during her visit. Then include a supporting document for this - utility bills, title register, etc.. I think this would be much simpler and shorter to write -may be 5-6 lines.

Dave and Aisa, thank you kindly.

I will be working on that letter tomorrow.

I have nearly finished the Invite letter, I will show you all when I have sanity checked again :)

Would it be advisable to include copies of any bank Statements?

Good afternoon all on this sunny day.

I am full of questions! apologies for the bombardment, I just want to be absolute on all documents :)

Does my invitation letter need to be stamped or approved by the British Embassy?

No stamp required on the invite letter

I would include a copy of the return flight tickets also

    Good evening John, thank you.

In terms of return flights tickets, do you mean my flight tickets for when I travelled to Philippines?

Hi Steve I mean your good ladies return tickets, from her forthcoming visit to the UK if your successful with your application. It's meant to help demonstrate that your good lady has every intention of returning home that said I don't know many people who would pay for a ticket for travel that may or may not happen.
Can I suggest you have a look at flights and see if any airlines offer provisinol itinerary bookings etc
