    Sinulog.........

Without fail, again, my sweet asawa is preparing for tonight's fiesta at home.
Like clockwork, and using the usual lack of organizational skills and with all cautions to the wind, she got up earlish to start preparing the various delicacies that are normally called for for the very special Fiesta.
I would like to list a few, but I have got lost soon after Lechon Kawale and pancit palabok.
For once my help is not required, unless something crops up and have to drive to some shop for the elusive missing link ingredient. And because of that small detail, I don't feel I should indulge in a lunchtime drink to steady the nerves...
A few people have been invited, and I am sure they will brave the little snow on the ground to come and join us for a few hours this evening. Pity that the husbands will be driving, so the chances are that I may be the only one with a glass of wine or lager or brandy in the hands. Wife permitting, of course.

Being very religious and traditional in her Cebuano Customs, my Jitta is extremely conscientious in this .
I am sorry, that after so many years, I still, haven't had the fortune and opportunity to experience the Athmospere of the Sinulog Celebrations.
    One of thes days....
In the meantime I will have to do with, and enjoy what goes on within my four walls.
It is always a pleasure and hilarity, to see the bunched up Wrexham Pinay Mafia launching themselves on a buffet table like locusts landing on a field of beans... With the obvious results...
Wisely, us men are asked to go first....
    Where's that Brandy..??

I really enjoyed your post Aromulus :like:
    Thank you for that.

As for me I kept things as simple as possible. Happily went for walkabout around San Pedro downtown Davao enjoyed few
snacks and attended the English Mass at San Pedro Cathedral.
The only moment of contention was when I suggested 'next time' to the purchase of yet another Santo NiƱo even taller than the last one

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner and bucket of San Mig Pils at a newly opened Japanese Restaurant.
At P200 each on a all-you-can-eat buffet I was well pleased.
Can't imagine how much Tuna sashimi we ate along with all the other wonderful foods. What a fiesta we enjoyed.

On the whole it was good fun.
As we 3 wise men sat on the settee, sharing my special home made Balti and a cider while trying to keep a straight face to the screeching noises coming from the other side of the room, couldn't help noticing hat none of the ladies left the safe surroundings of the laden table...
In fact they seemed superglued to it...........
