I highly recommend Flowers Express have used for at least 20 deliveries in the last few years and always been on time. Prices are cheap and quality has always been good.

Happily for me, from now on, the Co-op corner store (aka "the sari sari store mahal") have a good supply! But thanks for the recommendation. One that I used many times with good results is http://www.islandrose.net/

Happily for me also, the shop down the road is now just fine. There are tons of providers out there. None of them particularly amazing value and I always personally thought the money would be better spent on other items bought locally :)

Easy enough when in country but always a nice surprise for those back in the Philippines when your overseas.

I have always considered cut flowers as a waste of money, far better a plant such as an Orchid which will be around for years

    Both have their place.

Receiving a nice bunch of freshly cut flowers is a short term pleasure.

Looking after an Orchid collection is a long term hobby.

Must say that I am far happier selecting a bunch of freshly cut flowers in the shop myself, rather than ordering an anonymous bunch online.

But Dave what a fantastic hobby to have, with careful selection you can have flowers all year round not to mention some wonderful fragrance as well. I have to grow cutting flowers for my boss and as nice as they are, they look better in the garden.

My worst online shopping experience of all time was sending flowers to my gf in the Philippines last Christmas .
I used Pick up Flowers , who had a good website with 100% guarantee . Omg , where to start ?
The flowers arrived 4 days late
They were nothing like in the photo
I ordered and paid for a nice glass vase. they came in a cardboard box
Because they were late, many flowers were dead
    Customer service no help whatsoever
And forget about the guarantee , it's not gonna happen.

Just read their Facebook page if you habit and look at their reviews , I never had so didn't see before .

    Avoid like the plague .

There are two "sending to the Philippines" services that I have found to offer good value for money, reliability, and a good standard of service when things go astray, which is almost inevitable:

    1. World Remit, for money

    2. Island Rose, for cut flowers (yes, they delivered to a farmhouse up a dirt track in the bundoks of Mindanao, on time and fresh).

Thanks for reply Methersgate. Yes I agree re World Remit , I'm really happy with the service I have recieved from them .
Thanks for the tip about Island Rose , I'll bear that in mind .Ive been looking online for florists in Moalboal, which are local to the gf. The problem with the Pick up Flowers order , was it was sent from Iloilo , which is too far from South Cebu to arrive in good condition .
I had assumed , wrongly as it turned out , that they would use a supplier at least in Cebu .

I sent flowers to my Mum in the UK regularly for several years, ordered online through the same respected website.

Everything was good, then I sent her a "Christmas Special Bouquet", I was home and saw it, it was bloody awful, a few gold painted twigs and wilted flowers is all I remember.

I never ordered from them again.

Yes it's really disappointing to send someone such a bad gift , in my gf case it was the first time she had ever been sent flowers , so I wanted if to be memorable . Well it certainly was that, but for all the wrong reasons .
I accept sometimes things go wrong with all companies , but the amount of terrible reviews they have on their Fb page , shows that this is a common theme .
When customer service refused to try to solve problems , or actually completely ignore messages and e mails , I think that sums them up as a company .
Thanks for your message , sorry you had the same experience .

Island Rose have a strictly limited range of options and I am sure that this is part of their secret: everything is standardised. But the options are pretty good, and their ability to deliver really fresh flowers, everywhere that I have asked them to do so, has impressed me.
