There are lots of threads regarding sending money to the Philippines, just search the forum.

Cheapest way in my experience is not to send any :)

I was just joking, I was fortunate enough not to have to send my then girlfriend money, she lived and worked in Dubai for many years so she could support herself and kids without any help from me. I paid for her visa and most of my trips over to Dubai and Manila. Now she has a good job here and now gives me money so I think that's great :), I'm financially better off now she is here and of course I no longer have to pay for four trips a year to see her.

She now sends money to the Philippines using Western Union online, I know she is happy with the service and cost. Many chaps on BF have some good advice on who is the cheapest money sender and often submit promotion codes.

When you do go to the Philippines, take lots of £20 notes with you that are in good condition and let the loved one guide you to the best value for money changer over there, money changers are everywhere in the Philippines due to the enormous amount of OFWs returning home for holiday.

My wife sends money monthly to her mother's bank, which is also BDO. She uses Western Union. It tends to be pretty good either with fees or with exchange rate.

To be honest I now miss the trips to Dubai and Manila, they were little holidays for me and I now have no idea when I will return to the Philippines.

Christmas will soon come around for you and she will soon be here with you.

I strongly recommend World Remit, especially if you are sending to a bank account. I have been using them for three years, since a falling out with Western Union when my account with them was hacked.

World Remit are also good for cash pick ups, but their bank to bank rate is outstanding.

i would think western union would be the worst way to send unless dont mind their fees /rates, recently found out can use lbc online to send direct from credit card but havent checked out the facts yet with credit card provider.

if your just going for holiday ,then can bring money to change there or use credit card -atm withdrawal -depending what part of philippines you will travel to ,if preparing things for wedding -then can bring few thousand with you and just change it as needed .

The only problem with using credit cards overseas is that you often get charged for transactions that are not in Sterling.

sure there are charges for withdrawing from atm at least 200 peso from that bank and maybe from credit card company too -depending which bank you will go to

Sending money to your girlfriend in P.I is your cho
I don't think sending money to a girlfriend in PI should always mean supporting her already...and it also does not follow that the girlfriend can not afford to support her own self.I think it is our individual choices if we send or not, whether GF is moneyed or not, educated or not... so long the relationship is genuine , it is not that bad to send some. :)

You can send via BDO .....Just please don't send via PNB, takes time to claim..
