    Hi. I am new on here.
    I am a UK citizen looking to bring my fiancee to the uk on the fiancee visa. Bit confused to be honest. Can anybody advise me about a good agency to use and the papers needed and when to submit them.

    Read through the first few posts in this thread. Micawber goes to great lengths to break down what is required. Really it is as simply as compiling a list of documents required as evidence and applying for the visa. Although an agency will do this for you for a hefty fee, with just a little research you can do it yourself for free.

    The only thing that has changed is the introduction of the £18,600.00 a year gross pay that a person wishing to sponsor a spouse or fiance needs to earn. Otherwise this info is spot on..

    What exactly confuses you? Give us specific questions and I am sure we can help.

    Hi Im Sheryl,
    Im planning to apply a visit visa in UK once i passed my IELTS (ENGLISH TEST). While i have this visit visa staying in UK we can then get married.. and before my visit visa end i will file a permission to stay as spouse visa. Or file this what they called "applying to join permanently as a family member(spouse)"

    Hope our plan will goes well if that we will going to do. If there is someone here already tried that and experiencing a problem please let me know...

    Thanks and God Bless.

    I strongly suggest you apply for the proper and correct visa for your situation, ie fiancee.

    sorry--not as simple as that. you are not allowed to marry in the UK on a visit visa. ( if it were that easy and cheap--we would all do it !! )

    a visit visa costs less than £100------whereas a fiancee visa--with the 2 FLR's and the ILR---will cost you 40 times that over the next 5 years.

    Bigmac is right. You wont be able to marry here on a visit visa.

    To apply for a fiancee visa you would have to apply from back in the Philippines.

    She will not be able to marry because her visa will be visit visa not marriage visa which is stamped in the passport.

    A visit visa is what it says............ visit only
    A Fiancée visa is what it says.......visa for marriage with a stamp in the passport clearly stating that the holder of the visa is entitled to enter the UK for marriage, it also clearly states the sponsors name too.

    Once you get a Fiancée visa you will be able to enter the UK and you then have six months in which to get married. The evidence that I provided to the UKBA that I was going to get married was the following;

    1. Receipt showing him and her wedding rings
    2, Email from Registry Office inquiring about marriage to a Philippine National
    3. 2 x emails inquiring about wedding and reception to local wedding venues

    Note that you need to be very detailed and accurate with all the paperwork you submit for the visa.

    Ask your boyfriend to take a look at the link below;

    http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...r-a-partner-spouse-visa-under-new-rules.5740/

    All the information you require + links are there. Take a lot of time to study it (I studied it for about 2 hours the first time I looked at it) and absorb the information given. Note you can download the application forms there and take a good look at them. You NEED your boyfriend to help you, he will be the one doing most of the work :)
