Perhaps I'm a little late with this info, but

now available in Wing Yip supermarkets.
Not cheap (at £31.55 a case), but worthwhile for that special occasion.

Thanks for the tip :like: I'm sure it will get picked up once or twice when I need some Pinoy beer..

Although I am known for having one or three on occasions, and on situ, I generally refrain from purchasing it over here..:(

There is a plethora of better tasting beers and lagers just on our doorsteps, and for me nothing beats a Grolsch, a DAB, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Moretti...
And so on......... and on, and on.................. The list is endless....
Getting slightly overcharged by the asian stores for something tha I enjoy drinking on holiday, and definitively loses flavour in transport, ain't the done thing anymore.

    Besides............. When in Rome................;)

    But to each his own................:like:

By the way, Blue............. See you in March again...???

Yep, fully agree with that. :like:

    Not only but also .......

Tsingtao often on promo at Waitrose at £1.48 for the huge bottle
Heineken nearly always on 'rollback' prices at Asda coming in also at £1.48
Peroni and Corona get the good deals at Sainsbury's

When budgets get under pressure there's always 20x440ml cans of Carlsberg (Northampton's local brew) for £9 at Asda

Must admit that I'm not that fond of Red Horse, I certainly would not choose it deliberately here in the UK, when we had the Sari Sari store it was certainly a big seller but that was basically because it was cheap and strong.

If you don't care what it tastes like there is always Tesco Value Lager, you can get 20x440ml cans of it for a fiver :D It's actually fairly low calorie due to the fact that it contains so little alcohol and is just about palatable if it's close to freezing :D

I will only get Red Horse for gatherings. For me personally, I usually like to buy bottles of Budweiser (baby buds if I can find them) but some other beers if on offer usually get bought in place (have a few bottles of Stella Artois in the fridge right now).

There's a distibutor here in Kent who stocks Beer Lao, which in my humble opinion is the best beer in Asian.

But you can't visit & collect, they only deliver.... which makes getting just 1 or 2 cases totally unrealistic.

Dom .... no, we're gonna pass on the Ideal Home this year.
Awaiting on Mrs BBJ's citizenship application..... so she might have a UK passport by then, and it'll be "Europe here we come"

    ..... but never say never

I don't recall having tried that one. Better have a go, especially as you rate it so highly. Cheers :like:
And thanks for the heads-up on Red Horse. Bet my wife will soon spot it on our next visit to Wing Yip.
Haven't been for some time now but planning a trip soon for a Valentines dim sum lunch at their splendid restaurant.

The Hoo Hing supermarket at Milton Keynes is our local 'big boy' oriental store. They have a great section for live seafood. (pricey though)

By the way BBJ, which music bar in Cebu did you end up at (if any)?

I once read that the makers put the price up to get away from that nickname, thinking it would be too expensive for the lower classes to buy in bulk..

We didn't "hit" any in the end.
My wife meet up with friends & ex-colleagues so that idea went out of the window.

BTW, we stayed at the Quest, right across the road from Ayala Mall.
Never again..... you literally diced with death every time you crossed the road from hotel - mall.
Wasn't too happy with a few other things there..... so a different venue if/when we return.

Apparently in france its considered quite a cheap beer, like our carlsberg etc. They can't believe how much it is for sale in the UK!!

Red Horse is an all time filipino favorite. The taste is very satisfying.

Red Horse is strong in alcohol, but has a poor metallic taste and causes a bad head afterwards.

Best to avoid people drinking it as they tend to want a fight.

    Just my opinion!

I didn't think Red Horse was the fighting juice, thought it was tuba.
