I have mine today and my wife has now received a text from the gp to have it. She posted the text on fb and has the idea in her head ‘why is she getting before all her friends- she is 45 and not as old as I.

Coupled with the ideas and cultural feedback from her family, who suggest it is the mark of the beast!

We are in the UK - her family are in the Philippines and they were also influenced by Donald Trump and right wing Christians in the States suggesting not to take the vaccine.

I regard the vaccine as necessary, particularly because I have at least a niece on life support with covid here. And we have heard and still here about others dying.

I have to think that as her family have not bought in to the idea, she is reluctant to take medical advice in the UK

What health conditions does she have, her GP would likely not be contacting here unless there is something that makes her more vulnerable at age 45.

Ok so clearly explain to her that she is getting it because of known health problems that she has and that she already knows about herself, explain that her doctor considers her vulnerable so she got it early before all of her friends because her doctor does not want her to die from COVID.

Tell her that lots of people are considered vulnerable and are being done before or at the same time as the age 65-70 group.

I had the Astra Zeneca Covid-19 vaccination today - it is recommended by my doctor - I would recommend of course that everyone takes the vaccination - I am none the worse for wear! In 12 weeks I will get the second dose.

See how you feel late tonight and tomorrow :D

I was fine at first and had a lousy day the following day but it was all good as it just means it is working, my reaction seems quite rare.

So far as you know ;) anyone could have had it asymptomatically.

    Good regards no reaction.

Me I would not be travelling until at least 2 weeks after the second dose but I am extra cautious.

I had my AZ vaccination last Tuesday and I didn't feel any side effects.
And I am well over 65...

I cannot understand this suicidal wave of European disdain for this particular vaccine, and the lies they are disseminating about it.
Germany is desperate for vaccines, Merkel actually refused to have the AZ, and they are sitting on 1.2 million doses in some fridge

when i had mine--6 + weeks ago--it was at the care home my wife manages. The doctor doing it was happy to to do it--as they had some spares and they would otherwise have been thrown away.

Not having contingency plans is rather silly :(

I have mine this afternoon, I expect side effects to take place at 16.00 on Sunday, and to last about 3 hours.

It was a doddle for me. The experience was very similar (for me) to the flu jab.

My wife finally had the vaccination Astra Zeneca this morning - nothing to it, didn't even feel it and no side effects, and a trip to the Philippines will be in June, when we both will have had the second vaccine in May.

Excellent that she accepted the vaccine.

Remember the second dose does not work instantly you need to wait a couple of weeks before you are fully protected, and even with the vaccine first dose you should not act like you are any safer, physical proximity to other people still needs to be kept to a minimum to suppress this virus at this time.

Twelve weeks is the end of May, you might get it a bit earlier at 10 weeks, but be careful about making advance bookings for flights and be aware of these flight rules foreign holidays are banned at the moment and from yesterday you will need to be carrying a government form saying you are permitted to travel this provision will be in effect till at least the 17th of May note the 'at least'.

I enquired with my GP and was told they are doing Group 6 & 7 at the moment and I am in Group 9 so I will be invited soon! My husband is going for his first vaccine today he is 68 y/o. My son is booked for his first dose in March 23 and the second dose is booked on June 8. My daughter’s vaccine is also in a waiting list.
I am definitely going to have it. Although I have Asthma and Hypertension, I am hopeful that my GP will offer me soon.

I don’t wear mask whenever I go out because of my asthma, but I have a card from my GP and red lanyard with writing I am exempt to mask. ;) Otherwise, the fines can reach up to £6,400 when caught. There are lots of police implementing this around London Bridge and London Victoria whenever I pass there to buy my Filipino foods supplies from Earls Court. :)
