Hi you are in a very difficult position.
At present flights in and out of the Philipines and movement is extremly restricted, as to is entry into the UK.
Visit visas can be difficult to obtain and this is not helped by all the biometric centres being shut.
At present sadly I would suggest you are going to be apart for a while yet.

do you--as your wife's sponsor, meet all the criteria for her spouse visa ? are you fully clued up with it? but no point her applying till you know flights are available.. the visa application process can take 6 to 12 weeks in normal times.

He has asked for details before and got the detailed info on requirements so would like to think he has sorted the requirements out.

Real question is when will vfs global in manila re-open and probability of getting a visit visa.

Visit visa only gets together again temporarily as cannot normally convert to spouse visa in UK although I think I read somewhere that due to covid that restriction has been lifted temporarily but sure it won't last long.

Visit visa probability has been discussed before and it is based on previous discussions a roll of the dice. Bigger problem is that certain documents like tb test will expire if go for visit visa before applying for settlement visa and cannot apply for settlement visa while visiting here as have to be out of UK when applying for settlement visa and they keep your passport for duration of settlement visa application process so can't travel.

Best option is probably to wait until offices reopen and then do settlement visa application.

Frustrating but don't think any other way round it.

    Thank you Big Mac
I spent two months over there doing all paper work think I have all paper work but not 100% sure . Your right I know there is no point starting the visa proses till lockdown is sorted, I just miss her like crazy just want her with me :( if I could book a flight to go back there I would, the ILTS test I was waiting on so we could start the visa application but then it went to lockdown.

You have my sympathies, I realise you both want to be together asap, however the Covid 19 situation has put your plans on hold, I would use the time to check double check and treble check you have all your required documents in place, your bank statements as an example will need updating get all this done so that as soon as the various lockdowns are eased up, you can hit the ground running.. Good luck.

Yes, but im on furlough right now, this lockdown means their isnt much work about right now, the boredom is mind blowing, the wife is settling into her new job as a support worker, at least it has proper pay not like her first job which was care in the community, she was doing 7 hours 4 on 4 off but only got paid for being at the various clients houses, which usually meant about 3 1/2 hours pay, added to which she had compulsory unpaid training at her company HQ, now at least she gets paid for her full shift, and gets paid for her online training..

my wife retrained here in the UK as a carer for dults with special needs and got her NVQ 3, before returning to the philis when her student visa expired in 2012. she got a fiancee visa late 2015 and we married in april 2016.

as soon as she got her first FLR she got a job as a carer in a care home--then moved to her present employer as senior carer in 2017. she then studied for her nvq level 5, got it...and now is the registered manager of the home.
filipinas are highly sought after--and valued, in the care profession.
