just wondered as I’ve never checked

But does it get automatically logged in the UK

Or did I sign something here in the UK first as I can’t remember

I got married in the Provinces , but first had to get a affidavit/affirmation from the British Embassy in Manila, im pretty sure you have to register the marriage in the UK, it is not done automatically..

a legal marriage in the philippines is recognised in the UK--end of. there is no automatic notification to the UK--but you dont need to do anything about it.

    Thank you both

But if I don’t register here

I could get married again with no comebacks

I had to provide a Cenomar in the Province to certify that i was not married in the Philippines, as for getting married again in the UK, i suppose its possible.. however whatever way you look at it its bigamy..

haha--not quite. you still have to declare your marital status--supported by documents..marriage certificate--divorce or death certificate.

Well I have a divorce certificate from my first marriage

But no marriage certificate from there

I reckon a few take a chance and get away with it

Many years ago I was sitting at the Heineken bar on the upper level of the old Lounge 2 in Schiphol airport waiting for my outbound flight, a British bloke started chatting to me, he lived and worked in the middle east, he ended up openly bragging about marrying multiple women in Asia and dumping them when he got fed up with them, he claimed the paperwork was easy, I have no idea if he was telling the truth or not but he certainly seemed to think it was a fairly easy thing to do.

Sometimes you get into good conversations with travellers and sometimes you get into quite unpleasant conversations, that was one I would have preferred not to have had.

    This poses an interesting question!
If married in the Philippines (no divorce law) and went say for 2 year seperation with consent divorce would that happen?
Or would you be divorced in the UK but not in the Philippines?
I think this may of been discussed before but not sure.

That aside @Jimmy as others have said you're marriage is recognised in the UK so to marry again you will have to divorce or be a widower both require documentation

It would be a foreign divorce..so would be recognized over there. Might be tricky getting mutual consent though.££££££

    Hi singlefem.
Some members want to talk to other members about all sorts of things, perhaps even relationship problems, especially if problems arise and communication is difficult.
"Talking to wifey" is not always easy in many marriages. ;)

Then thos marriages have troubles. As a partnership you should be able to talk freely to each other even if the topic is troublesome.
