there have been several changes to the way documents and evidences are to be submitted since i last sent one in--november 2018.

i think it would be helpful if we could recap how it now has to be done.

any input from members who have recently done this would be welcome.

Not speaking from actual experience, but my understanding now is -

The sending of paper evidence is now 'dead & buried'. (We were one of the last to submit paper evidence - for a 1st FLRM application - when the option was still open, alongside submitting scanned documents)
I believe the 2 basic options now are -

Scan & submit your evidence yourself, from home; Or,

Use a UKVCAS? centre, who will scan it for you.

I think the various 'express' options are probably still available - but whether they are worth the extra cost?

I did suggest a few years ago that we had an update forum to post all changes and advices.
It was pooh poohed at the time " difficult to maintain was the reason out of admin!
I guess to busy doing other things best left there

Bigmac, My wife attended a sopra steria office and completed a successful application for ILR on Friday. I am seriously hung over today but will be happy to explain our experience and answer any questions. I will write about our experience tomorrow in detail!!! Its a day of rest for me here today

For all I know, @bigmac, the 'DIY' option - like the postal option - may also have been withdrawn? After all, why let applicants cut costs if you don't have to!
Will be interesting to see how much the process - not to mention cost - has changed when we do our 2nd FLRM in 2021...

After uploading all of my documents I paid the fee on the 30th of May and then was directed to the Sopra Steria site and was then able to book the appointment for IRL . My wife's visa was going to run out on the 25th of June 2019. The 1st available appointment was on the 24th of June in Glasgow so that was cutting it a bit fine so we had to pay an extra £100.00 to secure an out of hours appointment for yesterday (14th of June)

The appointment was at 9.00am, I was not allowed in the building but my wife was out of there in 30 minutes as we had previously scanned and uploaded our documents to their website. We received an email just before 4.00pm saying "I am pleased to confirm that your application for indefinite leave to remain has now been granted. You will receive your decision letter and biometric residence permit (BRP) in due course and these will confirm your immigration status. Thank you for using our super priority service.

You can scan it yourself or have them to scan it all for you but it means you will be in the Sopra Steria office for a few hours. As we scanned out ourselves my wife was out of there in half an hour

    portsmouth not on the list.
my mrs hit portsmouth gunwharf quays yesterday...and southampton west quay 2 weeks ago.

i started this thread mainly for the benefit of newcomers asking for help and advice. no point in giving out dated info--which i usually do. theres been some very helpful replies--lets keep them coming. maybe admin will make it a sticky--or pin it, whatever that means.

Ah yes it was Bournemouth I mentioned oops.
I agree about new info but some just ask rather than read through.
Yes a sticky pin would be good but I doubt it will happen
