I am about to submit my application online (Visa4UK) webiste. My husband is in the UK with all the documents and will go to one of the new centres to get the documents scanned.

There is confusion on how my husband presents these documents some people say use bar codes to seperate all the sections and others say create a content page to seperate all the sections.

is there anybody who has submitted their documents in the UK under the new rules? if so can you tell me which is the correct way.

    thanks.

I took my documents to VFS in London last week, the helpful girl there seperated my papers and put them into separate piles each with its own bar code

Hello Caricel, I am in the same position as you, But I'm the husband in UK and Wife in Philippines and I am working on getting all the documents really, Good that you started this topic and hope others can help from VISA applied maybe 2019, because of the NEW rules that apply. Hello Markallanwainwright good to hear you have did it with the NEW rules, be good to hear step by step how you worked and completed the VISA. Only if you have he free time, I know a lot to ask. It could help others who get stressed a bit about the NEW RULES and completing the spouse visa.

I did mine with great help from member Mattecube on this site. As I'm still waiting to get word if visa is granted what I'm writing is a not a definite way to do it. Like you I'm in UK and wife in Philippines. How I did it......First got the online application with Visa4UK and started completing that. Booked English test for wife and X-Ray soon after. Meanwhile I download and completed forms VAF4A, VAF4A appendix 2 and SU07/12. Remember although I completed all these forms they were done as if my wife was supplying all the details, having said that I think SU07/12 was done as me, the sponsor. I booked appointment for wife at VFS in Manila where she took her passport (they keep hold of it) other ID card, English test results and X-Ray results and copies of them. Unfortunately the girl at VFS Manila didn't have a clue about me submitting docs in London and insisted my wife didn't have enough paperwork for visa. Anyway, next day I took all my papers into VFS London, they were scanned and sent away (I keep hold of passport) and mated up with wife's papers. Now just a case of waiting. I do believe that somewhere on this site is a comprehensive list of papers you need to submit. Good luck.

Great post and thanks for the mention this pretty much covers it @Kevintown I suggest you have 2 lists one what your wife must take document wise and do at the biometrics centre and one list what you must take and do its pretty straightforward if you keep checking your progress! Honest
As @markallanwainwright says its a fairly new system so be prepared as he did to meet ignorence of the system at either point here or there!
Also there are a number of scanning stations in the UK where do you live? together we will find the nearest one to you!

    Any questions ask away

I am feeling a lot better now, learning about the new systems in place for scanning Documents when in the UK, Instead of posting my documents to the Philippines with DHL post or Royal Mail, which I was going to do. I don't live in the Mainland I live in Belfast now, but could be happy to travel to a visa scanning center in Scotland, England or Wales if none in Northern Ireland. Do you have to book an appointment for the UK VFS London and other offices in the UK, to bring your documents too or at end of Spouse Visa online, you get to pick a time and date from a menu, like you would do for the lady in the Philippines to visit the Manila or Cebu office or do I walk in with your documents and print out of visa and receipt codes and talk with them and they do the rest and then ask for a payment. Thank you people here for the support, it very helpful and good to read about others.

I found it impossible to make a booking at VFS London, only walk in service available. Basically I handed all my papers to the helpful girl and she sorted them out into their separate folders. I was in, done and out in less than 90min. The staff there don't really tell you what you need or should have but the bar coded heading papers tell you what should be in each pile of papers.

May I ask if I need the originals when I submit the docs at VFS Manila? We’re wondering whether my sponsor in the UK needs to send documents (such as stamped bank statements) by post or simply send to me online to be brought to vfs and be scanned there. Thanks.

My wife submitted any original papers and copies of to VFS Manila. Like I said above any docs I had I took into VFS London. I did not need to send anything to my wife in Philippines.

My wife has just made her application and has an appointment at VFS Manila.
As her sponsor/husband i have all the items on the document checklist.
Our marriage certificate and her passport is also requested on the same check list.
    My question.
What else do we need to take to VFS Manila.
There is no tick box on the checklist for facebook chat logs, family photos, letters from 3rd parties ect.
I emailed the government helpline but they are only allowed to take money for the email and give us no indication if anything else is required.

Can anyone shed any light on this subject please?

take passport and birth certificate (unless you have it) but the passport is the main one.
I would also take hard copy of application form as I think they scan the front page to marry up with your scanninng
As long as you have all the documents to scan at your end it's fine TB certificate etc

Thanks, i thought they would need so much more supporting evidence but i guess if its not on the gov.uk checklist it is not needed.

no the onus is on the sponsor.
if I were you I would list on here what your submitting and what your wife will submit it can be sense checked for you.
As I say key is between you you have all the required docs and all the right support docs.
letters fro friends are not needed

if your renting your home you need a written agreement from your landlord or agent to say your wife can also lawfully occupy. also evidence you have at least six months tenancy still to run--or a written offer to renew the lease. does anyone else live in your home ?

I have that already prepared just in case they ask for it.
Although it was not requested on the gov.uk document checklist.
This is what is confusing, i expected that to be on the checklist.

Yes i did buy the gold package
I am passed that stage thanks and have my appointment.
In addition, if your are uploading your own documents the system only allows upto 1mb for each section.
I found this impossible as i had multiple documents in photo form.
