Okay, so their barcode separators are as follows:
    • EMPEE - Employment Evidence
    • FINBS - Financial Evidence
    • EMPSE - Educational Evidence
    • POASP - Sponsor Evidence
    • POACL - Consent Letters and Proof of Relationship
    • ACCTP - Accommodation - Permanent/Temporary
    • ADIFTC - Tuberculosis (TB) Certificate
    • POAOT - Additional Documents/Others
    • APPENDIX - Appendix II
I assume that, as we are applying for a fiance settlement visa, I won't need to include the separators for
    • EMPEE - Employment Evidence
    • FINBS - Financial Evidence
    • ACCTP - Accommodation - Permanent/Temporary
as they are presumably only for the applicant when applying for other visas? All my employment/financial/accommodation evidence is filed under POASP.

    Is this correct?

    Thank you

No. Sponsor evidence is your passport copy.

Financial Evidence is your payslips, bank statements and letter of employment

Accomodation is your mortgage docs or tenancy docs

    Employment evidence is hers.

Sponsor Evidence specifies "Financial Documents". Which is why I am thinking that the "Financial Evidence" (FINBS) separator is for applicant only (else why do they have two separators for the same documents?).
    Same goes for accomodation.

I checked that too. But what I did in my app before is what I've told you.

Are they not needed to organise all your supporting documents

so far as i am aware--the barcoding was introduced to use when handing in documents at VFS---which is no longer the case. all documents now go direct to UKVI Sheffield. ( except applicants passport--that goes to VFS with signed vaf4 form and biometric page. )

unless someone can prove its no longer the cae ?

I have yet to read anything definitive which says you're expected to use the separators when sending documents to Sheffield.

I have read multiple posts on this forum (I may have even started one myself) discussing this very topic, and it seems some people are adamant they're needed, while others say they didn't use them, but still received an approved visa.

On the VFS page here: https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/ph/en/vacs/supporting-documents, the opening paragraph is, "All documents submitted by customers applying for all categories of visas (except for settlement) will be scanned at the visa application centre and sent electronically to UK Visas and Immigration.". I read that page as though settlement visas are excluded from the remaining context of the document.

The VFS page here https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/ph/en/n...tation-when-applying-for-a-uk-settlement-visa doesn't make any point of saying separators are required.

Maybe barcode are separators are a VFS thing and UKVI couldn't care less about their categorisation system?

I'd personally like to know for certain whether they're required for fiance settlement visa submissions to Sheffield, as I don't really like their categorisation system to be honest and it messes up my own (preferred) document structure :p (and I'm posting my evidence today!)

There's always new light shed after docs submitted hehe oh well. Just when I thought everything was covered. Not sure if It's mandatory to certify the copy hopefully it won't be a major deal.

    Hi Chris
It looks like posting to Sheffield is a thing of the past!
There appears to be 3 options in terms of getting things scanned
One is visit a premium centre and scan your documents free yourself ( depends where the premium centres are I guess
There are walk in centres that will do it for you cost £75
Also local libraries that for a cost will scan for you
Various threads going on at the moment containing various links to locations of scanning centres
