Hi, so I've had to return to the UK for a family emergency, while at the airport I paid for my ECC, but i was shocked, it cost me 2,800 peso, when I had enquired about this previously I was told it's only 1,200 peso.

Is it that expensive because I secured at the airport or did they just rip me off?

Sounds about right - mine was 2,800 or thereabouts - Think it is 500 if you're not planning on coming back

Pffft... they're not going to let you leave the country without a good pocket-picking.

Yep, I agree, 2,800 is about right which, if memory serves, includes two 'express lane' fees.

Is there any advantage in getting the ECC at the BI office in Davao a couple of days in advance, as against at the airport at the time of Departure?
