Soon tanks, planes, and ships will be obsolete weapons.

This has Arab armies concerned, to put it mildly.

This is one of the reasons Arabs are scared to death of the Israelis. What you are about to watch is an actual event. The Israeli Armed Forces filmed this in real time. What you'll see is a fully armored Syrian tank being hit by an Israeli laser-guided, steel-penetrating, phosphorous-filled "hand held" rocket. The rocket is small, very portable and is a tightly controlled weapon. Each one is accounted for when they are checked out and back in. There must be no fewer than 2 soldiers present to verify the use, one must be a senior officer with a minimum of 10 years military service.. (the name and program is classified)

This tank was headed for one of Israel's settlements. There were four more tanks one mile to the rear of this tank. They turned around before getting to this area after learning what had happened to the lead tank.

    Dropbox video links?

    Really?

Do you realise how dangerous that is for anyone to download?

    Who's the source?

    Has it been virus scanned?

Is there a course members need to attend to realize just how dangerous a dropbox video link is?
Are there any rules in this forum that do not allow such links to videos or other external content?
    Am I being detained?
    Really?

There is a certain basic understanding of the internet that most people should already be aware of.

I could hide a virus in a dropbox link easy, whose account is that dropbox account it could be anyone with any set of reasons or hidden purpose.

I've never seen a direct dropbox link on this site, not ever, if you link to YouTube it's a public site and Google should be screening anything that gets posted, Dropbox well who knows indeed here is their effective disclaimer
    https://www.dropbox.com/help/security/viruses-malware

You are a long standing contributor to this site, you are not a novice using the internet, I would expect you don't need a course to have a gut feeling for what might be dangerous.

Please just think about the source before you post, Dropbox is peer to peer sharing program it is not a safe public resource.

The first time I had even heard of drop box!!
No idea what it is because my knowledge of internet content is not even close to what you have suggested.
I found the story and video on a very large public forum with over 50 comments about the interesting video content.
Not one comment from either members, moderators or admin there flagged the content as unsafe.
If you feel as an internet expert that the content is unsafe, then remove it and stop being so dramatic!!.

    Dramatic, sheesh!

I don't know if the content is unsafe I didn't open it because I am not going to put myself or others at risk, I would open something on Dropbox sent by a close trusted friend but only after having verified with them through another route that it was definitely from them.

Do you just click on links in emails no matter what the from address happens to be, do you open emails that came from people that you would not expect to be getting in touch right now, the internet is a dangerous place.

Did you read Dropbox's own warning?

And as for being an expert, I wrote what is effectively Dropbox last year to act as a private synchronisation service for the business I work for, we previously used Dropbox for this precise purpose to sync between our servers and our customers and then they (Dropbox) dropped support for older Microsoft server platforms leaving us in the lurch, so I wrote the damn thing myself, a system that gives us 100% of what we need without Dropbox's fees and without the unnecessary features that we don't need.

Been in use for a year syncing our software to 120 factories without fail, but it comes with the same risk, if we screwed up on our own internal security we could replicate a small problem to hundreds of sites.

I have paid for anti-virus on all my personal systems and on my work computers, those paid for systems are a last resort I rely on my behaviour to prevent infection in the first place.

edit: and yeah the content is gone.

What about media embed settings here? Is there not some type of list that can be updated by you lot to block un trusted content automatically? surely that`s the way to go to avoid this type of drama against us technophobes and computer jargon illiterates.

Fortunately for the forum members here,I have managed to find the video on Youtube.
    So... Back on topic!!

Just guessing but I don`t think there will be any need for coffins or further cremation of tank crew.
Devastating weaponry from a hand held device.

    That's fine on YouTube.

I have no idea if it is possible to block things like that on here, there are many peer to peer sharing systems out there, if I had written this site I could have implemented code to prevent such links, but I didn't write this site, it is commercial software and we would have to investigate.

How would we go about blocking downloads from someone's personal website for instance, we can't vet every url on the web.

It was rhetorical, you asked a question "is there not some type of list" I was responding to that.

If the Arabs stopped 'hating on' and attacking the Israelis, they'd have nothing to fear, now would they !

Pain in the arse, the lot of them.

If I were throwing stones and people were shooting guns in retaliation I'd be pretty fearful.

The problem with developing this effective little weapons is that sooner or later the Chinese will steal one or copy it. From China, it'll somehow end up in the hands of the Norks or Pakistanis where it is then just a small step from being in a legit terrorist's hands.

We can by and large trust the Americans (and Israelis) not to use these weapons indiscriminately. Same can't be said of the other bad guys.

The problem with these weapons is that they are restricted in use under international law. The target has to be nowhere near any civilians.
