Vietnam is good, especially Saigon. I got addicted to their spring rolls and coffee!!! It's all about food, nightlife and shopping!

Now is the peak tourist season for visiting Thailand, November through to February. The rainy season has finished and the temperature is not yet too hot.

To be honest I like all the different seasons in Thailand, good to have a change.

I enjoyed Hong Kong earlier this year, the Mrs would like to go back too. Previously, pre marriage, I enjoyed Thailand. Had great fun playing pool in Bangkok or relaxing on Koh Samet (Samed). We're both looking forward to visiting more of South East Asia in the future, using Philippines as our base

Even PH passport holders could easily get a visa to those countries.

    Plus, great food!

Bhutan was actually quite expensive,as a solo traveller I had to spend a minimum of $290 a day, every day,I did the EBC and the ABC helicopter flights, and a gyrocopter flight, they weren't cheap particularly the EBC as that was around a thousand quid for a few hours.I had just arrived back from a trip to Canada two days before I flew to Nepal.

I'm guessing this is an aerial shot from the chopper, a few reflections and some slight reduced contrast but really impressive, trimming the bottom (guard rail?) would improve it, but it's amazing anyway.

I've worked in a few a parts of Asia. I spent a few months working in the port of Tanggu in Tianjin province in the plate 80's. We worked full weeks but managed to travel one long weekend a month so managed to tour more to Beijing etc. Have been back a couple of times and its not the same place anymore. Singapore too many times to count as we have an office there. Philippines obviously in Manila, Siargao ( vacation ) and Batangas. KL and Port Dickson and Penang ( vacation, it was cheaper to fly to PEnang and stay in the hard rock hotel for the weekend than stay in Singapore ). Thailand Pattaya with work. Hong Kong and Macau in the 80's for pleasure. I want to go to Vietnam though I am guessing it will be Bulacan in January

I tell you what I do miss is not having a smart phone in the 80's so I would have pics.

I had good cameras back then which I carried everywhere but film was so expensive and even with daily access to professional processing and printing facilities it was still hard to make a good record of those times.

It is really amazing what we take for granted today but yeah it would have been amazing to have that technology back then.
