im thinking of applying for it in April maybe may...what would be the toughest things to do would you say?finacial side I guess I maybe ok...think I got £17000 over the year...but I have £70.000 in savings I’m currently employed still...I live with grandad...the savings those are in cash isa and savings account so obviously I’d need to provide them with those statements aswell

    Thanks....any info would be appreciated

your home and dry on the financial requirement if you combine salary and savings. you need 6 months bank statements and payslips--if your a fixed salary employee. you need to show your savings are instantly accessible--in your name and held for 6 months.

a hard part of the fiancee visa application is proving your relationship is genuine and ongoing. so plenty of photos together--different places..receipt for a ring if ou are engaged.

have you considered her getting a visit visa to come over here and see what its like ?

She's been here once before with her cousin ..she studying to be a beauty therapist and eventually find work here

On the finance side those..obviusly it shows on bank statement that my wages go in from employer...but once they do go in ...i transfer £1000 straight to my ISA...will this be a problem? I can as I say..send them my ISA statements etc aswell showing me that I transfer the money to it etc...thank you

Just make sure the ISA allows for immediate withdrawal.

From the info you have provided financially you should be okay, you need the last 6 months wages slips if you have had one job in the past 6 months, if you have had more than 1 job ie changed jobs, then you will need 12 months wage slips, you will need the Bank statements covering the same period. Its not really relevant what you do with your money once its been paid to you, you just have to prove that you meet the required income levels. If you can indeed prove that your Cash savings have been held for more than 6 months, and that they are
accessible as and when you need the Money then 70k is enough without having any other Income, ie £62,500 in Cash Savings then no other income requirement is needed https://assets.publishing.service.g...pendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement_Final.pdf

So in my opinion financially you are home and dry..

Oh right...not in my case but basically if you don’t work...you can just show them you have £62,500 in the bank? And no income or payslips? Wouldn’t that be easier option those?

If you check the link i sent you scroll down to section 7. 2, then scroll down to appendix 7.2.4 it gives you a table showing exactly whats needed, if you can prove instant access to your Cash savings, then that may well be your easiest option..

I tried copy and pasting but it doesnt paste out so that you can understand it, screenshot would be easier to show you, but i dont know how to do that sorry..

In answer to that question yes you need a copy of your Tenancy agreement obviously with your name on, if your Grandad is already a Tenent, then you need to ask him to make a Tenancy agreement between you as his lodger and him, or as a minimum a written and signed letter from him detailing your accomodation arrangements , Make sure that you are on the electoral role, any Bills with your name on at that address will also support the fact of where you are living, and if possible you need to show that the property is not overcrowded. Basically every little bit of information that is proof of you having adequate accomodation will help with your fiancees visa application.

you will need to talk to the landlord / agent to get an agreement in writing she can live there too. if its a shorthold tenancy it will need a minimum of 6 months to run--or an offer to renew or extend the lease.

Im in a similar situation to Davy in that im a lodger, the Council would not put me on the Council Tax bill, Then the Council Housing office would not give me a letter saying where im living, then they wouldnt confirm that im on the Electoral Role due to that Data thingy that came in last year. So what i have done is got me a Lodgers agreement, and a letter from my friend where im living confirming its okay for my wife to live here with me indefinately, plus i included every item from the Bank, the Tax office, HM Work & Pensions, Private pension Co, Driving licence copy, all of which had my name and address on it just to confirm where i live.
This will be the only possible reason that my wife can be refused her settlement visa, the Council officials were not very sympathetic at all really, and i had to stop myself blowing a fuse, after all what trouble is it for them just to write a letter saying where i live, and it wont be over crowded, but we have done what we can to meet the requirements its up to the deciding official now to make his judgement..

I visited them personally (Council) as you can see from my reply above. I also contacted one of my local Councillors, she responded by saying that as i have no permanent address, the authorities would not allow anyone to come here to live..
However as you know i continued with my visa application.
