Oh I don't know how you guys can stomach it :D

I'm a San Mig Light guy when in the Phils, but it has to be ice cold, I would never drink it here as there are far too many superior drinks available here at a better price than a not very good import :)

There is something about temperature because beer and other foods taste different when the ambient temperature is somewhat different, things that taste good when the surrounding temperature is 33 degrees can taste quite different at 18 degrees :)

Beer na Beer, or Cerveza Negra are my preferred options when drinking Philippine mass produced beers.

I try to track down foreign beers given the choice, or local craft breweries such as GPoint in Manila. :like:

Well that would be interesting, it's about an hour from me, I wouldn't mind comparing a couple of freezing cold San Mig Lights to some of the beers I might sometimes drink here. I suspect it wouldn't fare too well :)

Crikey..3.15 for half a liter of RH?? Not that I would drink it by choice in the UK anyway (or the SML at any price) but I wonder what his profit margin is in the UK?
I`d wager not very much given the taxes and shipping to get it on a shelf in the UK!

In reverse it is the same, 3 quid for a 454ml can of McEwan's export :D in the Phils and that was a decade ago :)

What makes it worse is that the bottle cap has the peso price on top.

that being said, for the bottle size and strength its not too bad for an exotic beer in the UK.

Where we lived before, the owners stocked both Sam Mig Lite and Red Horse. I bought a few of each for the dads at our daughter's birthday party. There was about 5 bottles of Red Horse left over and only a few weeks ago, Mrs Bowler emptied them down the sink as they were outside their use by date. Grrrr.

Adastra Pacific - nice post. Thanks. We will go today and combine it with a trip to the Trafford Centre. We have not yet found much in the way of Pinoy supplies in our area.

We got there okay. There were road works on the A6 which had to be circumnavigated. But yes, it was all in there. We came away with about £30 worth of mainly junk food. :D Bang goes Mrs B's diet.

But we also bought some of that Ube cake stuff that I like.
