Hi all,I'm in a bit pickle at the moment as I'm a couple of weeks away from submitting our spouse visa and the housing association who I rent my flat from are refusing to mention they have no objections to my wife and step daughter joining me here. Its a 1 bed flat but under the gov guidance rules has enough room. The lady says they will only include in the letter how long I have been a tennant and that it's a one bedroom flat with no mention of adequate accommodation..Would you say that this would be enough with the room pics and floor plan to prove enough room?We would be moving to a 3 bed once they were here so I'm thinking that I might need to put it back for a month or so..If I'm honest she has been a right snotty cow..any thoughts on this would be appreciated..cheers folks...I'm going to cebu on Tuesday for 4 weeks so it's not all doom and gloom

She's just turned 6 bigmac...I've read through the guidance rules for adequate accommodation and there's no problem with that as such,it's just there refusal to write this in the letter..I have my tenancy agreement which I've had for 8 years. The neighbourhood officer said there's no problem with them being here but again won't put that in a letter..strange I think really mate.

I have a 7 year old stepson and lived in a 1 bedroom flat when did their visa and i had the same letter about my flat from the housing, just wrote in my cover letter that they do not get involved in immigration matters and just showed my tenancy letter and council tax bill and had a home inspection done and they stated that there will be no overcrowding if wife and son lived with me.

Cheers deano,I was thinking the same mate but have left it too late to get the inspection done before I fly in Tuesday. I'm just a bit concerned as it's a lot to waste if they decide the tenancy agreement, floor plan and cover letter isn't enough.thanks for the reply pal

The immigration notes give you an example of a 1 bedroom flat is big enough for 3 people as they include living room as a sleeping area but local housing only count bedrooms.

Hi forgive me if I'm in a wrong thread. Me and my husband is applying for a spouse visa and we rented a place under payne and before we agreed we made sure to ask them about the supporting documents at first they were very helpful and fast on our inquiries but now they are not it has been 3 weeks but all they can say was they have pass it through the owner and that was from 2 weeks ago. Some of our documents will exceed to the 28 days period and we have no idea what do to or how to get away with this. We have begged and sent them emails about our concern. Can we still go through our application without it?
