Hi!Im Den from Philippines.Does anyone knows or can give some advice about my visa.I have a settlement visa to join my partner who is a UK citizen. We got married here in the Uk and living for 6 months now.We are planning to go for a holiday in Philippines next month but Im a bit confused about my visa.Am I still allowed to enter Uk again with this same visa? (My visa says multiple entry--settlement to join my partner but it has a VALID UNTIL date which is May 30,2016)..

Have you applied to the Home Office for Further Leave to Remain - FLR(M)?

Hi Den. If you married in the UK, you joined your partner on a fiancée visa which means your visa was good for 6 months. If you applied for further leave to remain or FLR(M) after getting married, then Home Office issued you a BRP (biometric residence permit). You show this at Immigration to prove you're resident in the UK and allowed to leave Philippines and enter the UK Border.

I wouldn't advise trying to re-enter on a fiance visa once you are married.

Best wait until you have flr.

That puzzled me. If you got married already and been living together for 6 months now and your visa is still valid until May that is already more than six months and really doesn't sound a fiance visa. But what else could it be?

Have you applied for extension after you got married?

I have my BRP already valid until 2019.This will be enough to show at the Immigration to leave and enter again?

BRP is fine, that's all you need, you will have no problem re-entering the UK :)

No need to inform anyone, she is free to come and go as she pleases within reason. Only trips overseas that are longer than 6 months in duration have any bearing on future visa applications.

Just curious Timmers, do you know if there an accumulation of the number of days you spend out of the UK once you have the BRM, that can affect any FLR/ILR application later, or is it just the +6 months trips that'd be problematic?

Once you have the BRP you can come and go as you please within reason, the FLR for example doesn't even ask for days out of the country, it is the time leading up to the ILR and Naturalisation you have to watch. We have discussed this a few times here but I cannot remember exact days etc. don't worry about it now though you have enough on your plate.

thanks everyone ! now I don't have to worry about my return to Uk then. and one more thing please, can I ask what are the things needed to be done if there are, after getting married here in UK?--like paperworks or do I have to inform anyone?

If you have your BRP already then you have done the important thing to do after marriage which is applying for FLR (m). And no, you don't need to inform anyone unless you've not told your family and friends that you got married :cat:

Hi @Mali De -- You got married in the UK, right? Don't forget to bring your CFO cert and to update it (and sticker - I'm not sure if they will put on a new sticker with your new name) to your married name once you get back here in the Philippines. So you won't have problems with the PHL immigration when flying back again to the UK. If I'm not mistaken, updating the CFO cert is free of charge. But just in case you forget, just show your marriage certificate.

    Enjoy your vacation! :)

If ever you use your new name, update your CFO certificate to match with your passport name (new name). But if you're still using your maiden name, you can just skip this I think and do this step the next time you visit for a holiday with your new name on your passport. Just prepare your marriage certificate on hand just in case the PHL immigration officer asks you.

Updating the CFO certificate will be done in CFO offices -- Manila and Cebu.

Address: Citigold Center, 1345 President Quirino Avenue Cor. President Osmena Highway, Paco, Manila, 1007 Metro Manila
Address: Causing-Lozada Building, Osmeña Boulevard corner MJ Cuenco Streets, Cebu City, Cebu

If you need more clarification on this, you can contact CFO Manila on this number Phone: (02) 552 4700

And don't forget to bring your CFO certificate when you visit the country. This document might be asked by a PHL immigration officer when you fly back to the UK.
