Bago lang po ako dito. Nag babalak po ako gumawa ng online Filipino Store then hopefully mag karoon ng physical store. Sa bahay muna ako mag start, problema ko po ay parang walang Filipino wholesalers sa U.K. Sa lugar po kasi namin dadayo pa sa malayo para nakabili.

My husband and I are planning to move to the UK together. He is a British Citizen and I am Filipino. We are planning to move to London/ Kent. Are there any Filipino restaurants or anything that reminds you of home around these areas?

I've told my husband time and time again that I will miss eating Filipino food sooooo much when we leave. (Like when we went to Australia for 3 months, I got super home sick in terms of the food hahahaha)

A vegetable I enjoyed a lot while in the Philippines was something called Sayote. I found something similar in the PAK Foods store in Stoke (Mainly Indian food stuffs) and they had a vegetable called Turia. Does anyone know if this is the same vegetable with an Indian name or something different? Does anyone know where I can buy Sayote in the UK.

While in the Philippines we bought Sinandomeg rice and quite like it. Is there a supplier in the UK? I have looked in may Asian and 'World food' shops but all I find is horrible long grain, Basmati and the rather nice Thai Jasmin. I long for some real pinoy rice. We bought a bottle of Soy Sauce (620ml) for £1.39p. That compares with Soy Sauce from Tesco (only 150ml) for £1.19p. The other foods seemed similarly cheap.
